Last time I participated in Style Imitating Art
you all seemed to love it! So I decided to participate again. This time the selection is a Roy Lichtenstein work called The Oval Office. I’m sort of bummed that this painting was chosen AFTER the Lichtenstein exhibit left the Art Institute of Chicago. Because how cool would it have been if I could have taken my photos in front of more Lichtenstein work, hmm?
Since I don’t own yellow clothing I focused on the red, white, and blue aspect of it. Hence the red jacket, the blue and white striped shirt, the denim skirt, and my new Vince Camuto wedges with that are both black and blue! Of course, I tossed on my yellow bracelet so I didn’t leave the yellow out completely.
Also, these are my new Vince Camuto’s that I purchased at the Bad reaction to zoloft. Unfortunately, the downside to shopping at outlets is that you usually can’t find any of the items you purchased online. Which means that if you want to buy these shoes you’re going to have to find your own Vince Camuto outlet in person. Or you could go buy these
which are currently on sale for under $40 and are SO CUTE! In fact, I think I will be purchasing these myself.
So, other than more shoe shopping I’ll be spending my weekend taking a free personal training class I won by participating in a Nike Chicago program, having a sleepover with some friends, and then doing the bike leg of a triathlon relay on Sunday. Oh, and attending my running club’s summer picnic. Anyone else think I’ll need a weekend to recover from my weekend?

It’s Copycat Friday from Sarah at Frills for Thrills! I’ve had a denim and stripes outfit pinned
for awhile. Since today’s temps are back in the 90s and it’s Friday I decided to pull the trigger and recreate it.
Of course, I went with a more office-appropriate pencil skirt and ballet flats instead of heels (although the ones in the photo are adorable!). I also have a white cardigan on standby in case I get too cold in the office air conditioning.
Also, I’ll be honest with you, I have a pair of cropped jeans to change into when I leave work today. I’m meeting my husband for lunch
and then we’re off to see Sleepwalk with Me. The perfect way to “end” summer.

Today’s OTI was a reader submission. Gingham, a twirly skirt, and a cardigan.
I own a gingham shirt and I recently discovered that I love to wear it with this oatmeal colored cardigan. Plus, I’ve been looking for a way to wear it with my white A-line skirt. Throw in a fun pop of greenish teal with my new necklace and my favorite fun wedges and you have an outfit.
However, due to several things I have planned for today (including a party where there will be wine. Red wine. Red wine and a white skirt do not go well together for me) I opted to swap out the white skirt for a denim one. And ditch the cardigan since it’s supposed to be almost 80 degrees here today.

I bought these shoes last summer on a whim. I don’t normally like wedges but for some reason these just called out to me. I’ve worn them so many times since then and almost always get compliments on them. They’re not as crazy as my zebra heels
but they’re more practical for summer and can be dressed up or down.
So, which look do you prefer? White skirt and cardigan or no cardigan and denim skirt?
P.S. I’m also linking up with Simply Sarah
