I think one of the times I wore my camo jeans one of you mentioned that they would look good with red. That was the thought that was on my mind when I put together this outfit, not that I’d already worn such a similar outfit in the past.
But, hey, I see comments all the time that people like seeing the same pieces worn again so hopefully you’re not all like, “Ugh. Can’t she come up with something else?”
So, a few years ago, I wanted some faux leather pants but I didn’t necessarily want leggings. But this particular pair has always been a little bit big. So, when I saw that Le Tote had some faux leather leggings available to try, I thought I’d go for it.
I also got this top in the same shipment and had plans to wear them together. But when I put on the leggings, well, I couldn’t do it. I couldn’t wear leggings as pants. So, I put on my slightly-too-large faux leather pants.

I don’t know if it’s because this top wasn’t quite long enough or if because I just felt underdressed for work wearing something as tight as what I wear to the gym or what exactly it was about the leggings, but I just felt uncomfortable. So, yes, I wore them around my apartment while I finished getting ready for work and then changed at the last minute.
It’s funny; I can wear leggings at the gym or out to eat after a race or at a fitness event but I just can’t do it otherwise. Am I weird?
Remember back in April when I did the 10 piece wardrobe challenge? And all I wanted to do was wear my white blazer? Well, this is one of the outfits I wore that I never got a chance to photograph. And I liked it so much that I wore it earlier this week.
Let’s not talk about how I could wear the same outfit in April and in June. Stupid weather.

This past Tuesday evening my friend and neighbor invited me to go with her to see the Barenaked Ladies in concert at Northerly Island, an outdoor concert venue on Lake Michigan. Hard to believe, but even wearing jeans, ankle boots, a long-sleeved top, a sweater, a scarf and gloves I was cold. In June! At least the concert was entertaining. Highly recommend going to see Barenaked Ladies even if you don’t know all of their songs. I don’t normally enjoy concerts but this one was great.
I suppose the only plus side to the chillier weather (and the fact that my desk at work is freezing until mid-afternoon) is that I can still wear blazers to work and not sweat to death on my commute.
And, yes, I just wrote a post that was mostly about the weather. My life is just that exciting.
On May 25, 2003 Jason and I got married on a cool, windy day outside a restaurant overlooking a golf course in our hometown of Champaign-Urbana, Illinois.
Twelve years later, on a cool, windy day in Chicago we celebrated by going to Dave and Buster’s and winning a giant banana.
It may not be a wedding dress, but this is what I wore for our anniversary outing.

Our anniversary typically falls on or near Memorial Day weekend and this year it was on Memorial Day itself. I admit, I felt a bit costume-y wearing camo and a necklace made out of a bullet on the day when we honor those we lost to war. Maybe my outfit was a tad insensitive but I didn’t think about that until afterward!
Regardless, I wore it again to work the next week on a random day that didn’t have any specific military connotations. Because I liked the outfit anyway.
And this time I even had a pedicure to go with my sandals. (Ugh. Worst segue ever.)
I was visiting my mom this past weekend and she offered to give me a pedicure. I wasn’t going to turn her down! Now, if I can just get her to do one every few weeks. You hear that, mom?
Well, the future is now because here’s another outfit with my camo print jeans!

Rocksbox gave me three month trial of their service so I could try it out and tell you guys about it. I’ve already worn everything they sent me in my first box and am looking forward to my next one!
Yes, Rocksbox is one of those services, similar to Le Tote, where you pay a monthly fee to borrow designer items. Whereas Le Tote is for both clothes and jewelry, Rocksbox is just jewelry. And so far they hit my style spot-on. You get three pieces and they can pick from your wish list or they can use your wish list to send you items they think you’d like. I’ll show you the other two items tomorrow!
And, yes, you can buy the pieces or you can just wear ’em, send ’em back, and get new ones!
I thought this necklace was perfect for adding a little bit of shine and femininity to an otherwise casual outfit. I wore this particular outfit to run a ton of errands over the weekend (Goodwill, Home Depot, grocery store, Target) and now I want to wear it too work. Too bad I already sent back my Rocksbox and I’ll have to wear something out of my own jewelry box that I probably won’t like nearly as much.
I still really like the outfit, though. Very comfy and practical. I also like how the gray works with the more muted camo print and keeps it all very neutral.
What do you think? Which camo print outfit do you prefer so far?
Is there anything in your life that you like but you feel bad about liking? I feel that way about camo print. I love the way it looks but I feel so disingenuous wearing it. Like, the only people who should wear it are those in the military or who are military veterans.
I admit that I bought these jeans on sale in January and last week was the first time I wore them. And I felt both awesome and self conscious all day. Of course, it did help that there was another girl at work also wearing camo print jeans so I didn’t feel totally out of place.
I have lots of ideas on how to wear them so hopefully I get over my weird hang-up and just admit that it’s a print. I mean, people wear plaid who aren’t Scottish, right?
