I had several outfit ideas in mind when it came time to interpret this week’s SIA choice but since I was planning to wear it on St. Patrick’s Day I knew I had to wear my green pants.

The design on the dragonfly’s wings reminded me a bit of leopard print which is why I went with my leopard print shirt instead of just wearing the black sweater alone. Also, it was finally that weird temperature that allows you to layer up top and wear ankle pants. I think the secret is that it needs to be in the high 40s, low 50s all day. That’s Fahrenheit, by the way.
The necklace was a last minute addition but I think the black and gold, plus the shape of the baubles, nicely echo the shapes and colors of the brooch.
In other news, I got to hang out with Katie of Personally Paleo this weekend as part of her Core & Coffee series. It’s such a fun idea: workout together and then go get coffee or food and chat. We took a kettlebell fundamentals class at OTG Bootcamp and then went to Windy City Cafe. I won’t say much more but I’ll let you know when the full post is up over at Katie’s blog!
Also, don’t forget to check out 14 Shades of Grey tomorrow to see how all of us interpreted this week’s art!
I think I’ve finally figure out when to wear skirts and sweaters. I think it’s this time of year called “fall.”
Don’t mind me, just a little slow on the uptake.

I’d pinned three outfits that paired camel colored leather skirts with black sweaters (this one, this one and this one) and decided to merge all of them together into this outfit that I wore on a day that started out cool and got a bit warmer in the afternoon.
Still not sure how I feel about ankle boots with skirts. Especially black ankle boots. Every time I wear them I feel self conscious all day. However, I think if I’d gone with flats this outfit would have been way too “school girl.” My husband even mentioned it looked like of a like a school uniform.
But, really, do school girls wear faux leather skirts?
Once again, it may seem silly to be wearing a sweater when it’s practically summer but I liked this outfit so I wanted to share it with you.
It’s an interesting combination of bling (thanks to Rocksbox) and casual (thanks to my sneakers from Shopbop).

Most of the people in my office don’t wear a lot of jewelry so when I wear pieces like this I tend to get comments. Good comments, though. In fact, the day I wore this one I got a compliment on it. It’s fun when people compliment my Rocksbox pieces because I can tell them how much fun it is to try out new jewelry all the time.
