Oh yeah, I also got my hairs cut. I hadn’t done anything to my hair since November and I figured it was time. I seem to be back in the rut of letting it grow out and then getting it all chopped off. I’m kind of digging it short, though.
I was worried that it would look ridiculous after a lunch-time sweat-fest (aka the gym) but it turns out that when it’s short like this it just sort of does it’s own thing and I kinda like it!
Very Little Orphan Annie meets The Great Gatsby, no?
Anyway, I honestly can’t remember the last time I wore my black cropped pants. Let me check. Hold on….
Oh wait. It was here. I highly recommend you don’t click that link. It’s pretty horrible. Anyway, it’s been over a year. Crazy to think that black cropped pants used to be a work wardrobe staple!
This morning was one of those days when I tried on two different outfits before settling on this one. I mean, a leopard print top and black pants?? Whoa. Don’t get too funky on me, right? Seriously, though, as part of AJ’s Friday Favorites Remix
I looked back at the other ways I’ve worn this top and I’ve never actually paired it with a simple pair of black pants.
Crazy, huh? Especially considering that leopard and black are a super easy combination. Perfect for a Friday when you don’t want to wear jeans (meetings and, well, it’s warm outside) but just need something simple yet sophisticated.
And, really, what is more simple and sophisticated than leopard and black?
Reminder! I’m over on Chippmunk

Monday mornings can be rough sometimes, right? So what makes it easier to get dressed on a Monday? How about using an inspiration photo?
Today’s inspiration photo comes courtesy of Two Birds blog who host an inspiration party
Of course, for those of us who can’t throw on jeans on Mondays, I decided to interpret this into a summer casual office look. Cropped dress pants, a flowing colorful blouse, simple hoop earrings and strappy heels fit the bill perfectly.
Don’t have a flowing blouse? Just put on something colorful up top to brighten up your dark pants, skirt, or capris.
How would you interpret this look?
P.S. Don’t forget about You Pick Wednesdays! Only two days until the next one. What do YOU want to see?
It feels a little casual for a non-summer weekday in the office but since I don’t have any meetings I think it will fly.
One of the blogs I read (You Look Fab) HATES cropped pants. I, on the other hand, think they are a staple of office wear when you live in a city that gets hot and humid for a few months out of the year. And since our hot weather has shown up a bit earlier than usual so did the cropped pants.
