Primavera [SIA Post]

Style Imitating Art

Co-host Salazar is currently traveling in Cuba and she found this sculpture along the way. It’s titled “Primavera”, which means Spring. Appropriate for the time of year, yes?

Cuban artist Rafael San Juan created this sculpture by working with a Cuban ballerina. My favorite line from this interview with the artist? “One of the suggestions [the ballerina] made was not to have her looking down, as here women are strong, they confront happiness, work, problems head-on.”

Love it!

I’m thinking that this might finally be my chance to showcase my poncho I purchased this winter at Moonfish (which, by the way, has another pop-up coming up soon).

What about you? Does this sculpture bring any outfits of your own to mind? If so, put it on, snap a photo, and send it to by next Tuesday, March 20th.
