Lake Effect Snow

Casual Clothes · Casual Friday · Office Appropriate Outfits - Winter

I had a different post queued up for today…but then it snowed and I had to take advantage of it.

Also, hooray for light after work! We shot these photos yesterday when I got home and let me just say, it was NOT sunny when I left for work. Nope. I made the 10 minute trek to the train in blizzarding snow wishing I had snowshoes. And then I watched from my office windows as it snowed sideways once I got to work.

Thankfully, I can wear this outfit in my office and no one cares that I’m basically wearing a sweatshirt and snow boots all day. The last thing I want to do when the weather is acting up is dress up!

Chewie loves playing in the snow and, now that we have a backyard, he’s all about running around, sticking his face in the snow, and acting like a total goofball. Man, he makes me laugh. It’s almost worth getting snow in March.

Awesome pics Erin! Yeah, it snowed quite a bit here yesterday too. I looked out my window (I’m off from work this week) and it looked like a snow globe outside! I took a few photos which I may put on my blog later.
And yay for the extra daylight in the evening! Now that we’re on Daylight Savings time, there’s still plenty of light in the evening for doing outside activities after work. 🙂

Love the snow pics, especially Chewie with snow all over his nose! One year Odi stuck his nose in the snow for so long, he got frost nip and his nose scabbed up. Goofy dogs, they love it.
In upstate NY we would get so much snow that I had to tunnel out trails for the dogs in our backyard. It was like a huge hamster habitrail and they would RACE through the trails. So much fun.

One of our previous dogs, Ashley, was kind of short so one winter the snow came up to her belly. She was…less than pleased. She never loved the snow like Chewie and our other GSD mix, Trinka Deu, have.

I just about died when I saw that picture of Chewie with the snow on his nose on Facebook last night. Seriously, the cutest thing EVER.

I LOVE having light after work–makes running SO much easier!–but man, waking up this week has been ROUGH without any sunlight to help me out. I know it’ll only last for a few weeks, but I sure do hate it while it lasts! And yesterday’s weather was so insane! When I was on my way to work, there were times where I literally could not see more than one block ahead of me due to all of the snow. After getting coddled all year with fake winter, I’m not used to handling that kind of weather anymore!

I’m sure you can picture it, too. He shoves his head into the snow, snuffles around, picked his head up, snorts the snow out of his nose, and then goes back for more. He’ll also try to catch snowballs if you throw them for him. He’s such a goof.
