Style Imitating Art

Happy Monday, everyone! Chicago has been in a beautiful daze for the past week. The weather’s been gorgeous and we’ve been celebrating. What are we celebrating? Well, in case you missed the historic moment, the Chicago Cubs baseball team won the World Series for the first time in 108 years!

Yes, you read that right. They hadn’t won since 1908. I’m not really a sports fan but it was impossible not to get caught up in the excitement and the overall good feelings that seem to have enveloped the city.

So, because of that, I actually found the cover of the program/scorecard that was used during the Cubs’ 1908 season and chose it as my Style Imitating Art pick for this week.

I’m thinking menswear, loafers, red, tan, black and white, Cubs apparel, all kinds of ideas. I hope you are inspired to participate! Just snap a photo of an outfit you wore that was inspired by this pick and send it to me at looplooks@gmail.com by Monday, November 14th! I’ll post the round-up of everyone’s submissions on Tuesday.

Go, Cubs, go!

Congrats on your home team winning the world series! After 108 years, they deserved to be in the winner’s circle. 🙂 I feel bad for my state’s home team, but they played well. Maybe next year!

A nice choice for this SIA Erin! This one will be pretty easy for me I think. The menswear part definitely plays in my favor. 😉
