SIA: Not as good as chocolate

Casual Friday · Office Appropriate Outfits - Fall · Style Imitating Art

I really struggled this week to come up with an outfit for the Style Imitating Art challenge. I don’t know why, but I just wasn’t feeling that inspired to A. come up with an outfit B. find someone to take pictures or struggle with the tripod or C. blog.

In the end, though, I managed to pull together some basics that fit the color scheme.

Blouse – thrifted Ann Taylor (similar) | Jeans – Henry & Belle (similar) | Shoes – Dr. Scholl’s (same) | Watch – c/o Jord (same)

I had dreams of wearing a tan cardigan or even my Rate of miscarriage from depo provera but it was 80+ degrees on Monday (when I wore this). I didn’t even need either of those things in my office. And because I was hoping to wear a scarf I totally blanked on jewelry.

Speaking of jewelry, would anyone be interested in attending a Stella & Dot party if I hosted one? Just tossing around the idea but I don’t want to do it and have no one come or people feel pressured.

Anyway, I’ve been debating getting rid of these jeans but I kind of like them with this top and these shoes. And eventually that scarf. Eventually.  In the mean time, you can see how other people interpreted this week’s art over on 14 Shades of Grey.img_1659

I think that your interpretation is great Erin. Your pants match the girl’s grey skirt quite well, your top matches her apron, and your shoes sort of match the light brown/mustard colored blouse in the painting. It’s perfect!

My junior high science teacher used to say that if you wanted boring weather, you should live in Florida… but if you want EXCITING weather, you should live in Illinois! I couldn’t believe the 80-degree temps we had earlier this week. Now it’s finally starting to feel like fall, but I think it’s supposed to warm up again next week. Craziness!

I’m not familiar with Stella and Dot but I’m always up for any kind of gathering!!! BTW – I am bummed that I am going to miss the shoe doctor event next Wednesday since I’ll be out of town. I hope it goes well!!!
