One last thing before I go

Casual Friday · Office Appropriate Outfits - Summer

As I ran through my neighborhood last evening I noticed that so many of the restaurants still have their outdoor seating up. We hang onto summer for as long as possible here in Chicago!

So, in that spirit, here’s an outfit I wore last month before summer officially ended.

Top – The Limited (similar) | Jeans – Old Navy (similar) | Sandals – Seychelles (similar) | Necklace – Le Tote (same)

Crazy how just one thing, a necklace, can take a simple outfit up a notch, right?

For fall, though, I’d probably just add a cardigan (maybe in cobalt blue?) or wear a black sweater and black ballet flats. Too bad I already sent this necklace back to Le Tote!

I’m waiting just a bit longer to bust out my riding boots, though. I have this weird self-imposed limit where I won’t wear them until the high for the day is under 60 degrees. For now I’m wearing flats, occasionally booties, and sneakers. I have a feeling the boots will be coming out soon, however.

I’m the same way with my boots. Mainly because I get way too hot if it isn’t cool enough outside to wear them, and partly because winter seems to go on and on and on, and they are the only thing you CAN wear!

Ahhhh, I wore my riding boots yesterday for the first time this season! I was ready. =) Love that outfit and it really is amazing how much the necklace kicks up the style factor. As per usual, I am loving seeing how you interpret the Le Tote items because they always look better on you than they do on the website! And YES to hanging on to outdoor restaurant seating as long as possible!!!

I’m the opposite, I look for the first day I can justify wearing tights! (If the high is below 70.) Although I haven’t worn knee-high boots yet (outside of my burlesquin’).

I am in LOVE with that necklace! I’m sure I’ve said this before, but I really prefer buying jewelry over clothes, not only because it’s cheaper (or at least it is with the jewelry I buy haha) but because I think you can make outfits look TOTALLY different just by wearing different accessories, which gives you so much more bang for your buck with basic items like the black shirt you’re wearing.
