SIA: An outfit for The Homecoming

Office Appropriate Outfits - Summer · Style Imitating Art

Last week I posted the art Jen chose for our inspiration this week: The Homecoming. Normally when I use art to create an outfit I gravitate towards the colors. This time, though, I went more for the lines in the painting. The grid structure of the bridge paired with the waviness of the water come together in this black and white outfit.

Also, I apologize for the lack of outfit photos last week. It’s funny: you’d think that with summer and more daylight getting outfit photos would be easier. But, really, by the time I get home from work lately I’m more interested in throwing in my favorite shorts (which, sadly, The Limited is not carrying this season) and a tee or tank and lounging.

Weekends are usually full or, lately, full of staying indoors in the air conditioning!

That’s okay, though. I know that you’ll still read when I post and that summer is a busy time for lots of us! If you have a moment tomorrow, though, I recommend heading over to Jen’s blog to see how other people used this same art to create what I’m sure will be completely different outfits!

Wonderful interpretation Erin! As always, you do a great job with the SIAs!
Your plaid shirt matches great with the vertical lines depicted by the bridge in the print.
See you at the round-up Wednesday and I’m looking forward to what you choose for the next SIA!

Great interpretation, love the outfit! Your arms look amazing, and I know that you work your butt off for them.
We leave Weds for the trek to Chicago…I’ll send ya a note when we get a bit settled. Wish us luck!!
