No Stress Holiday Outfit

Office Appropriate Outfits - Winter · Style Imitating Art

Between December 1st and January 1st I bet you have a lot of events to go to. At least, I know I do. And, if you’re like me and also work 8-5, go to the gym, and have a family/dog to take care of  coming up with an outfit to wear to all of those events is just one more thing to stress out about.

But, never fear! I have figured out the answer.

Top – The Limited (similar) | Pants – The Limited (same) | Shoes – Bandolino (similar) | Necklace –  JF&A Show (similar)

My solution? All black with bling!

Black sequined pants or a black sequined skirt paired with a black top and a glittery statement necklace are easy to put together and show some fun holiday spirit but don’t require much thought. I mean, what’s easier than all black?

So, whether you have an upcoming holiday party or need an idea for New Year’s Eve, may I suggest something with black sequins? Here are a few ideas:

P.S. This outfit and post were partially inspired by this week’s choice for Style Imitating Art – “Stressed Out” by Layla Holzer.

Sequins: the answer to all of life’s non-buisness casual dilemmas. Hahaha. Actually, when I was in H&M a few weeks ago, I was BLOWN AWAY by how many items were sequined – and not like a little bit here and there, but full blown whole-item-covered-in-sequins sequined. And here I thought that trend died when I was in high school! Are your photos in Chicago?? That building looks lovely!

I love those pants. They look perfect with the top too. And who’d have thought that sleeveless, outside, in Chicago, would ever have been a winter holiday outfit?! Woo!

(Sidenote: Damn, woman! Nice guns! 😀 Your arms look amazing!)

I’m actually thrilled that it’s warm enough to go sleeveless because all of my fun holiday outfits don’t have sleeves!

Plus, yes, it allows me to show off my arms. I’m pretty proud of them 🙂

Go get ’em, Erin!!! You look positively fierce in this outfit!

Are the sequin pants comfortable? I would be scared to sit down in them or bend my knees too much for fear I’d pop the sequins out!

I’ll let you in on a secret about the pants: they’re stretchy. Like leggings. But with a zipper, a button and back pockets so I don’t look like I’m wearing stretchy pants 🙂

      They’re actually quite comfortable. A little low-cut but nothing I can’t deal with .
