SIA: Surprise Leopard

Office Appropriate Outfits - Fall · Style Imitating Art

It’s been awhile since I’ve participated in a Style Imitating Art challenge, but I finally got the chance again! This outfit was inspired by a questionable one I posted on Instagram. At least one person said that to make it look less clownish I should wear leopard shoes.

So, when Jess at Animated Cardigan posted this painting I knew exactly what I was going to wear.

I bet when you first saw that painting you thought I’d wear my leopard print skirt. Or maybe my leopard print shirt. Or maybe my leopard print scarf.  Yeah, I might have a leopard problem. But, no, I went with recreating this outfit. And you know what? The comments on Instagram were correct. I like it MUCH better with the leopard flats.

We took these photos in a shopping area in Carmel, Indiana when we were in town for Jason’s grandmother’s 90th birthday party. We had to run an errand and found this great photo location that we didn’t want to pass up. I love that there are still flowers. Helps me forget that it’s fall!

Would you believe I got that scarf free from The Limited like 5 years ago? Crazy, right?

And Carmel is so freaking adorable. I thought I would be sad that my in-laws left Arizona but, actually, I kind of like visiting them now!

Jason really knocked it out of the park with those photos, didn’t he? I wish I could figure out how to take photos like that every time. Photographer is so fickle 🙂

Also, I totally thought I was going to wear my leopard skirt, too, until I clicked on the full image and saw the red in the corner.

Oh, I wear my leopard print shoes all the time! In fact, I’ve even convinced other people to buy some because they see me wear them so often 🙂 They really are a closet staple in my mind!
