My Current Favorite Skirt

Office Appropriate Outfits - Summer

When I bought this skirt after seeing it on Sarah’s Real Life, I honestly didn’t know how much I would end up loving it. I’ve worn it at least once a month since I’ve gotten it. It helps, of course, that most of my other skirts are too big and this one isn’t. But even if that wasn’t the case, I’d probably still wear it more than the others.

IMG_8252Funny story – I honestly didn’t even notice that this necklace had pink in it until after I’d been wearing it for a few hours. Oops! Well, uh, let’s just say that it’s “light red” and I’m going for a monochrome theme. And the stripes on my shirt are navy. I promise.

Anyway, I tend to wear this skirt with neutral colors, specifically grays and blacks, so I wanted to take it up a notch and pair it with blues. Hence the bright blue shoes. I’m honestly not sure how I feel about it and I almost changed my mind 10 times, but in the end, I went with it.

And I think it encouraged me to pair this skirt with my cobalt blue top next. Because, I mean, just looking at the photos tells me that a little color wouldn’t hurt anyone. What do you think?

Erin, I think you totally nailed this look. Pulling things together with bold blue on your necklace and shoes to offset the other more muted colors was a great idea.

So glad this skirt made the cut for TTT since it’s obviously my favorite. I love the idea of you pairing it with colors – can’t wait to see it with a bright shirt next time!

I’ve got a few ideas on how to wear it with some more color so hopefully I can do that before fall really kicks in around here.

Did you get some ideas on ways to wear your skirts from the link-up?

Yes, although mostly on what STYLES of skirts I want to own. Different cuts and how to wear them made me realize I don’t try on any skirts ever while shopping, so that’s why I don’t know what I like or how to wear them!
