As a member of Brandbacker, I recently got the opportunity to try a pair of Alterre shoes as part of their pre-sale launch. I wasn’t asked to blog about them but think the concept is pretty neat so I wanted to share them with you.
See, you buy a “lift” and then you change the “look” with different ankle straps. They have both closed-toed and open-toed versions. I was sent the Mist Grey Sandal Starter Kit and the first time I wore them I kept it simple with the grey Jackie ankle straps.
At first I felt like they might be a little too dowdy or “old lady” but I got quite a few compliments on them from random women of all ages in my office building. So, I suppose they do appeal to everyone.
The strap across my toes was a bit tight when I first put them on but since they’re made of soft leather it did stretch out throughout the day. However, I did take a day off in between wearing them with the gray ankle strap and the navy ankle strap just to give my feet a rest. Otherwise they were quite comfy.
And speaking of the navy ankle strap, I’ll have those up for you in my next post. Stay tuned!
P.S. Last Sunday I fell while riding my bike and scraped the crap out of my left knee. These photos were taken before then, so if you suddenly notice a huge scab you’ll know why. Those would be post-falling photos 🙂
