All of the Seasons (52)

Office Appropriate Outfits - Summer

In Chicago we have this awesome blogging group called the Windy City Blogger Collective. The two ladies that run it (Kit and Erin) are amazing and work so hard at organizing events for all of us bloggers to get together and meet one another. On Tuesday of this week we had a happy hour at Seasons 52 where we drank ourselves silly and stuffed ourselves with wonderful food.

And then I rode a Divvy bike home in a skirt and had Jason take my picture before falling asleep. Me, that is. Not him. Although, I think he did go to sleep about the same time as me. We’re a happening couple.

I was inspired to pair this short sleeved sweater with this skirt after Sarah at Sarah’s Real Life did something similar. I didn’t tuck mine in but I might have to try that next time. I just always feel self conscious when I tuck shirts into skirts because it tends to make me look disproportional. You know, since my torso is so short and my legs are so long.

Anyway, it might also seem weird to wear a sweater in June but I think we’re doing all the seasons this week. Hot, cold, spring, summer, fall. But if it snows then I’m moving. Even if Chicago does have the best group of bloggers around!

Tell me more about this short sleeve sweater situation. I used to have a short sleeve sweater and I think I wore it…possibly never. Maybe a a couple of times? It always felt too heavy to wear on a day where I’d want to wear short sleeves. Though maybe they’re not actually as warm as I’m making them out to be?

When it’s like 60-something outside I think a short sleeved sweater is perfect. I’ve also worn this one in the winter and fall under a blazer when I didn’t want to overheat.

However, that being said, I only have one short sleeved sweater. So, take what I say with a grain of salt because clearly I don’t think I need more than one 🙂

This skirt!!! Starting to kind of kick myself for not being a skirt person and running to buy it IMMEDIATELY when you did because I love all of the ways you’ve worn it. But I do kind of want to see the sweater tucked in – just for comparison!! 🙂

Well, since Chicago doesn’t want to give us our typical warm summer weather I have a feeling I could easily recreate this outfit in a week and tuck in the sweater!

I agree with Bri…I’d love to see the shirt tucked in. My step mom never wants to tuck her shirts in either because she’s short waisted but my question is what is wrong with long legs? (I’d pay money for long legs)!! I can’t believe you rode a bike in this skirt…you must be talented!! jodie

I guess I just feel like Urkle with my pants pulled up to my boobs even if they aren’t really!

I might have flashed a few people in my skirt but, whatever. I hope they enjoyed getting glimpses of my underwear 🙂

Such a pretty look! I also feel self-conscious sometimes when I tuck things in because of proportions and just feeling like I gotta keep fussing with it. I’m going to pin this look, too, as it’s actually quite simple yet so pretty.

And three cheers for short-sleeved sweaters! I find them extremely useful, as are my short-sleeved cardigans, for weather that can change throughout the day.
