Chilly in Camo

Casual Friday · Office Appropriate Outfits - Summer

Remember back in April when I did the 10 piece wardrobe challenge? And all I wanted to do was wear my white blazer? Well, this is one of the outfits I wore that I never got a chance to photograph. And I liked it so much that I wore it earlier this week.

Let’s not talk about how I could wear the same outfit in April and in June.  Stupid weather.

Blazer – Forever 21 (similar) | Tee – Target (similar) | Pants – LOFT (similar) | Shoes  – J. Crew Factory (similar) | Necklace – Rocksbox (code looplooksxoxo should still get you a month free)

This past Tuesday evening my friend and neighbor invited me to go with her to see the Barenaked Ladies in concert at Northerly Island, an outdoor concert venue on Lake Michigan. Hard to believe, but even wearing jeans, ankle boots,  a long-sleeved top, a sweater, a scarf and gloves I was cold. In June! At least the concert was entertaining. Highly recommend going to see Barenaked Ladies even if you don’t know all of their songs. I don’t normally enjoy concerts but this one was great.

I suppose the only plus side to the chillier weather (and the fact that my desk at work is freezing until mid-afternoon) is that I can still wear blazers to work and not sweat to death on my commute.

And, yes, I just wrote a post that was mostly about the weather. My life is just that exciting.

I read you loud and clear about cold offices, in my art rooms I was wearing turtlenecks up until the last days of school, for years.
Your outfit is sharp, crisp and I love it. I am interested in learning more about the necklace, please.

He is wearing a harness but I honestly don’t know the brand. The behaviorist we saw sold it to us as an alternative to the prong collar we were using. I was afraid he would pull too hard with the harness but it actually works perfectly! Putting it on him is always an adventure, though, because he gets so excited and wants to hop around and lick my face 🙂

The Freedom harness has a ‘cinch’ in the back and allows you to clip the leash in the back or in the front. It has helped us because the pups don’t pull as hard and they stop pulling as soon as the cinch pulls the harness tighter. I’ve never actually tried hooking the leash onto the front though. I tried gentle leaders (head collar) but they were a pain to put on and it takes a while for the dog to adjust to it so we weren’t consistent with it.
Yes, putting them on is always a challenge. Try putting two harnesses on two excited basset hounds! One of which hates that she has to put her face through a loop!

Sounds like it might be a freedom harness! It does have a gray cinch type spot on the back. I only use that when we’re running, though. Otherwise I spent a lot of my run untangling him 🙂

You had me laughing at “yes, I wrote a post that was mostly about the weather”—it’s not that silly…it does affects us! Besides I always comment that I have to dress for the inside anyways…most of the time it’s so cold inside of buildings/restaurants, etc!!! jodie
    ps…oh yeah…and I love this look!!!

Oh, but can we talk about how you’re able to wear the same outfit in April and June?!?! Because I, for one, am OVER THE MOON about it! Though I will admit I would’ve preferred this weather tomorrow for my long run rather than today, but beggars can’t be choosers, I suppose.
