On May 25, 2003 Jason and I got married on a cool, windy day outside a restaurant overlooking a golf course in our hometown of Champaign-Urbana, Illinois.
Twelve years later, on a cool, windy day in Chicago we celebrated by going to Dave and Buster’s and winning a giant banana.
It may not be a wedding dress, but this is what I wore for our anniversary outing.
Chambray shirt – LOFT (similar) | Tee – Target (similar) | Pants – LOFT (similar) | Shoes – Madden Girl via DSW (same) | Shorter necklace – Gorjana via Rocksbox (use code looplooksxoxo for a free month!) | Longer necklace – VO Jewelry
Our anniversary typically falls on or near Memorial Day weekend and this year it was on Memorial Day itself. I admit, I felt a bit costume-y wearing camo and a necklace made out of a bullet on the day when we honor those we lost to war. Maybe my outfit was a tad insensitive but I didn’t think about that until afterward!
Regardless, I wore it again to work the next week on a random day that didn’t have any specific military connotations. Because I liked the outfit anyway.
And this time I even had a pedicure to go with my sandals. (Ugh. Worst segue ever.)
