May Shopping Summary

May was another one of those months when I ordered a ton of things but ended up keeping very little.

I’d been wanting a gray striped tee since I saw Jen from Librarian for Life and Style wear hers several different ways. This one was on sale from J. Crew and I decided not to pass it up.

The unpictured denim shorts were a much-needed addition to my closet since all of my other shorts are too big. I won’t be wearing them to work but they were a staple in last year’s summer casual wardrobe.

The pants were because I fell in love with a similar pair from Old Navy that, sadly, didn’t fit me. After ordering these from The Limited in three different sizes I finally found ones that worked!

The shoes, though? I’ve been wanting some colored ballet flats and these blue ones have been calling my name from Shopbop for months and months. I finally bit the bullet and spent my Shopbop credit (plus $4) on them and I’m happy to say they fit perfectly the first time. How often does that happen?

As I mentioned yesterday, I’m thinking about going on a spending freeze for the summer and only mixing it up with items from Le Tote. As an ambassador I’ll get purchase credit with them so if I really fall in love with something I can buy it that way.

Since I’m training for my first triathlon I’ve been spending my money on things like swim lessons and a wet suit. There are a few other things I’d like to buy, too, so I think I’ll need to use my money on those! What do you think? Should I do a triathlon fashion post?

I’m kidding. Kind of.

Triathlon Fashion! Haha I love it. I feel like there could be so many alternate titles too like “How to Buy Triathlon Gear without feeling like a Stuffed Sausage” šŸ™‚ I like to say that it doesn’t matter what you look like in your tri kit because even the fittest athletes somehow has muffin top in triathlon shorts!

Ooooh, very nice selections this month! And not just ’cause I got name-dropped šŸ˜‰ Loving the sleek cut of those ankle pants. And is it strange that I can totally see all the 3 pieces you pictured (ankle pants + blue flats + grey striped tee) together in an outfit? Like add a blue necklace or scarf or earrings, and you are good to go for a really cute casual outfit. šŸ™‚

I noticed that the three pieces made up a nice outfit when I was putting together the collage, too! I think I know what I’m wearing next week šŸ™‚

Absolutely! I did a sprint triathlon a few years ago, and I definitely could have used a fashion post on it! I definitely wore the wrong wetsuit for open water swimming.

Also, kinda love that all of the items you pictured together fit together as one outfit. Very nice šŸ™‚
