Skirts and Stuff

Office Appropriate Outfits - Summer

Every few months I get my hair cut shorter and then keep up with it for awhile. But then I get busy and don’t make an appointment and my hair gets long and I get antsy. So then I make an appointment (I currently see Paul at Manchester Salon in River North) and get it all chopped off.

And then I have to decide whether I regret it or not. Right now I’m still on the fence. However, so far I’ve had more good hair days than bad so I suppose that’s a good sign.

Well, between what I’m sure it going to be a horrible tan line from my biking and running shorts (yay triathlon training) I’m also working on upping how much I can deadlift in the gym. Right now I’m up to 5 reps of 180 pounds. Deadlifting can leave some nasty bruises and marks on your shins so I’m currently sporting some fun spots which, thankfully, you can barely see in the photos.

I suppose, though, I should wear all those things as badges of pride, right? Yes, let’s go with that.

Sadly, lots of my pencil skirts are too big right now and they sit so low on my waist that they’ve become midi skirts! Ah, what a problem to have, right?

Ain’t no shame in bruised legs from doing something like that, as far as this breakdancer is concerned 😉 I’m pretty sure I have bruises more often than I don’t, and I prefer to view them as evidence that I’m actually trying rather than a problem. Also, your hair looks super cute! I love the cut.

Leg bruises, shorts tan lines, weird tan lines from sports bras….I think we need a beach just for fitness enthusiasts so we don’t have to sit next to people who don’t understand 🙂

Love the hair, Erin! And I remember not wanting to wear skirts/dresses when I played soccer because I had such awful tan lines from my shin guards– it literally looked like I had prosthetic legs from the knees down LOL!

So many non sequitur thoughts as I was reading your post today, including but not limited to: Your dog is SO handsome and striking; Love your natural curls; Totally get the hair frustration/laziness/cutting vicious cycle; So glad you’re able to find more ways to wear that cute top!; I bruise like a peach and always seem to be sporting bruises on my legs; You have a totally better reason for bruises than I do; Your watch is great with the black-and-neutrals color scheme; and finally, Those bow flats are super cute! 🙂 Jen

If only Chewie liked the attention that strangers want to shower on him! It’s rough having a handsome dog who wants nothing to do with anyone but Jason and I 🙂

Now I guess I need to wear this top with a black skirt and a red cardigan. Or maybe something white….
