April Shopping Summary

Shopping

Okay, guys, in full disclosure I probably forgot something that I bought in April. I did a LOT of online shopping this month. Mostly because I didn’t have time to go to stores. Of course, in order to hit the minimum for shipping I ended up ordering more than I wanted and still need to return most of it.

I also had grand plans of doing a little fashion show and showing you what I bought but wasn’t keeping and getting your thoughts but life just got in the way. So, just know that I bought this jacket and this one and I don’t think I’m keeping either of them. I really want to love moto jackets and military jackets but every time I put either type on I feel…off. Not sure what’s up with that.

Anyway, on to what I did end up keeping. So far.

april shopping summary

Old Navy Pants – $25 (on sale) – I ordered these and when they came they were too big. So I have the next size down on order now. Fingers crossed they fit both my waist AND my thighs. #athleticthighproblems

Nine West Wedges via Macy’s – $61 (on sale) – I first saw these on Bri and, as mentioned when I wore them here, they were a replacement for a pair that was falling apart.

Kate Spade Flats c/o Shopbop – I’ve been wanting a pair of pointed toe black flats and decided the bow on these was too cute to pass up. They’re a bit tight in the toe width so I might try the sock and hairdryer trick on them.

The Limited Cardigan – $25 (on sale) – This was a “filler” item when I was ordering these shorts (which are too big. Grrr.) and I decided to keep it to replace my original white cardigan from The Limited which is approaching 10 years old and starting to show its age a bit.  Also, I’m planning to try on a smaller size of the shorts if I can find one in stores.

French Connection top via Bloomingdale’s – $54 (on sale) – Yes, in the end I ordered this top from Bloomingdale’s. I wanted one size down and they had it on sale for cheaper than Le Tote. I’m super excited to wear it more this summer!

Ann Taylor Sweater – $35 (on sale) – I’ve been wanting a loose fit mesh-type white sweater to wear this spring and I think this one fits the bill. You wouldn’t believe how difficult it is to find one! Although this one from LOFT is pretty cute, too.

Old Navy Dress – $20 (on sale) – Here’s the thing: I needed a new swimsuit coverup. Mine is old and stained. But mine was a convertible jersey dress just like this one! Of course, it hit me at the knee and wasn’t a maxi. Still, I couldn’t find anything to replace it until I saw this one. I think it’s going to be perfect. I can tie a knot in the hem if I need it shorter and it can be worn as a dress or a skirt. Score!

Ann Taylor Scarf – $20 (on sale) – Another one of those items where I saw an outfit and thought “I need a white scarf in my life!” And then I promptly ordered this one and another one. I debated long and hard about which one to keep (and honestly thought about keeping them both) but in the end this one won out because it’s more pure white and the other one was more off-white. I thought I’d get more use out of the pure white one.

Rocksbox Perry Street Necklace – free w/credit – And, yes, I decided to keep the necklace, too. Thanks to you guys using code looplooksxoxo and getting a free month of jewelry from Rocksbox I get credit to spend with them. So, uh, thanks and keep it up!

Tretorn Sneakers c/o Shopbop – You guys. I am IN LOVE with these shoes. I’ve worn them three times and I want to wear them every day. They are super comfortable because they actually have some arch support. Also, as far as shoes go, I think the price is totally reasonable. And they’re cute. So, yeah, winners all around. I might just have to order them in pink, too.

And, of course, this doesn’t include the sweater, skirt or top I got from the clothing swap.

AND I ALMOST FORGOT! I’m sitting here wearing my new favorite shirt and I just realized I forgot to include it in the original post.

dog shirtThis shirt is AMAZING. It’s super soft, perfectly long and slouchy, and completely accurate. Oh, and she donates 20% of the proceeds to a local animal shelter. I kind of want to buy like three more of the exact same shirt to have them as backups in case something happens to this one.

Overall, I think I added some good items to my closet and stayed away from too many impulse purchases even with all the extra things I ordered. Now, if I can just get a chance to actually return some of this stuff and reclaim my dining room table from the clutter!

Erin, Glad to see that you kept that top and the necklace.
They will serve you well on many levels.
    Love the T, too!

I use Pic Monkey. I choose Design and then the Overlay option and then Choose Your Own. If the picture you’re using has a white background you can choose Darken from the picture options and it will typically remove the white background.
