White is in my jeans

Casual Friday · Office Appropriate Outfits - Spring

I think Bri over at Work Clothes, I Suppose was thinking just of me when she chose this month’s Third Thursday Threads theme of white pants.  I mean, not only did I choose white jeans as one of my Top 10 Remix items, I’ve been known to wear white pants in all seasons!

And, as luck would have it, I had already decided to wear them today.

Why did I decide to wear them today? Well, today we’re interviewing for a position that will report to me and I decided that I wanted to be a little dressed up…but not too much. So, it’s all business on top but a little more casual on the bottom.

I think white jeans, like black ones, can straddle the line between super casual and slightly dressy. Jason doesn’t understand how one can have “dressy” jeans but I beg to differ. It can totally be done!

Especially with white jeans. Just look at the all the ways I’ve worn them in the past! I’m thinking a round-up post of all my white jeans outfits should be on the to-do list.

In the mean time, wish me luck on these interviews. I hope we find the perfect candidate!

I might have to make a trip to Loft to check out those jeans. I’ve now seen them on two different blogs. I’ve never owned white pants but that might need to change. I totally agree that there can be ‘dressy’ jeans. I used to own a pair of dark wash trouser style jeans (from Express) that I considered my dressy jeans. I wore them so much I wore a hole in them and had to get rid of them. I also love your polka dot top! I’m in the market for some new tops but just haven’t had time to go searching.

I like that Loft has these in a bunch of different cuts & styles. High waist, lower waist, curvy, modern, ankle, cropped, etc. Not sure how many they have in stores but I appreciate that they realize that not all women are built the same! Plus, they fit all my criteria: not too tight in the calves, soft, and not see-thru!

I think this is my favorite outfit of yours yet! I would have skipped the necklace and worn navy shoes but I’m boring. 🙂

Interviewing is exhausting on both ends. Best of luck!!

I almost wore navy heels but they’re suede and it was damp out this morning on my walk to work. Plus, these always get compliments and that always brightens my day 🙂 Once I was wearing these shoes while walking to dinner with my husband and we passed another couple on the sidewalk. A few steps later my husband turned to me and said, “That woman was totally eye-banging your shoes.” I’ll take it!

As a dedicated, seven-days-of-the-week jeans wearer (except when it’s hot outside), I am firmly of the belief that jeans can be dressy. Dark wash jeans (as long as they don’t have weird detailing) are ALWAYS dressy, at least as far as I’m concerned, and I think white jeans are pretty much the second cousin of khaki pants, thus making them dressy as well. Honestly, as long as they’re not light wash jeans or destroyed, I think you can make an argument that any style of jean can look nice as long as the rest of the outfit looks nice.

My old white jeans were NOT a material I could dress up, other than as dressy resort wear. I’m really excited about having more of a denim material in my new LOFT ones so that I can use them just like you do here. Love this outfit, Erin!
