The White Jeans Whale

Casual Friday · Office Appropriate Outfits - Spring

About two years ago I decided I needed white jeans. However, I wanted the PERFECT white jeans. My criteria? Not so tight in the thighs that they looked painted on. Not too tight in the ankles (no jeggings, please). And not see-thru.

You would not believe how difficult it was to find a pair that fit all these criteria! I think I went to almost every store in Chicago. And then I ventured into Bloomingdale’s. I felt really, REALLY out of place in there but, lo and behold, I found my perfect white jeans. And paid an arm and a leg for them. Or, I guess, two legs.

I love these jeans, though. I paid full price for them and, while at the time I thought it was a ridiculous amount to pay, I’ve worn them enough that I’m pretty sure the cost-per-wear is pennies by this point.

That’s why I chose them for my Top 10 Remix. White jeans may not be the most crazy item in my closet and they might not scream “Erin” like, say, my leopard print flats, but I did search high and low for them and would be super duper upset if they got ruined.

Thank goodness I found another pair that ticked all the boxes at LOFT. Those are now my extra pair in case something does happen to this! But, let’s all keep our fingers crossed that these particular jeans last a good while longer.

Jeans are the only thing I will pay an arm and a leg for and I’ve never regretted it, except maybe that moment they swipe the card at the register šŸ™‚ The most expensive pair I have right now I swear constantly and they are the most comfortable and fit the best. Sadly they are black and starting to fade despite my best care efforts. I better start saving up again.

The white jeans look great on you!

      Hahaha, good point!

Also, white is actually easier to keep clean than some of my other stuff. Like you said, when they get something on them you can bleach them or dye them!

So I realize there’s nothing particularly out there or mind-blowingly crazy about this outfit, but I REALLY, REALLY like it. I don’t know if it’s the scarf or the sweater or the combination of everything, but I think it’s fantastic.
