Thank goodness for outfits in a box

Office Appropriate Outfits - Spring · Office Appropriate Outfits - Winter

I’m just going to lay it out there: life is kind of crazy right now. Between swim lessons and dealing with Chewie’s behavioral issues (more on that below) and keeping up my 4-5 days a week of strength training and Jason’s work schedule, well, I’m lucky if I get outfit photos taken at all.

I really need to find someone who can shoot photos at like 5PM near my office. Any takers?

le-tote-cardigan-and-dress-3Of course, it doesn’t help that apparently Chicago is having one of the coldest March months in history.

Putting together an outfit is not necessarily at the top of my to-do list which is why I’m glad that Le Tote sent both this dress and this cardigan in the same box and that these Rocksbox earrings worked perfectly with the finish on the cardigan’s zippers. The dress itself was a bit annoying because the lighter colored lining kept peeking out (as seen in the top photo) and it was a tad shorter than I expected, but the cardigan was a winner. Expect I’m not paying $64 for it! Maybe if those were real leather accents….

Anyway, Chewie. As adorable as he is and for as much as he loves Jason and me, he is not a fan of other people. So much so that we had to take him to a behaviorist and get him on some anti-anxiety meds. Like mother, like (furry) son, I guess. Which means that we’ll be doing some more training work with him as well. We also tied a yellow ribbon to his new harness and are working on teaching him to go to safe spot in our apartment. Good thing he’s cute.

My best friend has a rescue dog that is on Prozac. He seemed fine when they first brought him home but once he bonded to my friend and her husband he developed separation anxiety. I hope Chewie adapts and/or the medication helps him!

Fingers crossed over here, too! We’re trying to get him to realize that strangers are awesome and not things to be afraid of. It will probably take awhile but we’re hoping he’ll eventually get used to the concept 🙂

    Good luck with Chewie.

As for your outfit, when I saw that splash of white at the hem of your dress, I thought maybe it was camera flash on a leather trim or something. Too bad it has to malfunction like that, but over all, this does look really good on you!

If you really like the dress, it’s not a big deal to have the lining shortened so it doesn’t peek out like that! I can see why you think it’s a little short, but you have the legs for it!! jodie

Chewie is a darling…maybe he needs a friend (another doggie) and then he’ll feel more comfortable ?

It’s such a simple black shift dress and I already have something similar so I’m not that sad about sending it back to Le Tote. The cardigan, though. I wish I had caught it on sale!

I’d never heard of the Yellow Dog Project — smart concept! I hope Chewie’s work with a behaviorist/anti-anxiety meds helps him become a little more friendly! I think I’ve mentioned this before, but my dog was terrible with people outside of our family. We never invested any time/energy/money in training him, but eventually we learned to work around it. It made having company over a little tricky sometimes, especially when it was new company, but it’s not like we stopped having people over for 14.5 years. It was just something we got used to dealing with as time went on.
