I need a new shirt

Casual Friday

Today you get a “real blogger beauty” photo. What do I mean by that? I mean we took it last night after I’d worked all day (and gone to the gym). You get end-of-day make-up and end-of-day hair. Proof that I really wore this to work, I suppose.

Jason and I braved the coldest temperatures of the year (not kidding) and met for drinks after work at Bar Takito which is right next to the train stop and around the corner from Chewie’s day care. So these photos are post-drink as well.

polka-dot-sweater-gray-jeans-3Also, I need shopping advice. Yes. Me. I need to know where your favorite chambray shirt is from (if you own one that you love). This one is just a tad too short on me and I don’t love that it’s a bit stiff. And the collar acts funny. So, I need a replacement. I’m intrigued by the one I linked above from Express but I’d love to crowdsource some ideas as well.

polka-dot-sweater-gray-jeans-1I’ll even take you out for a drink.

I actually have 2 chambray shirts from Old Navy! I like them but agree that they’re a little short . I’ve considered ordering them in a tall size online, but the sleeves may be a little long on you if you did that. I’m curious to see what other suggestions you get! Love the polka dots on polka dots here though.

I actually ordered a chambray shirt from Old Navy and returned it because it was too long!(Not tunic length but much longer than a standard button up) It was a shame too because I felt like the fabric was uncharacteristically high quality for ON and the color was just right.

I like the Gap chambray shirts,. They run longer on me, so might on you, as well. Loft has some soft, lightweight ones. I purchased one as part of the after Christmas mark-down (75% off original price!) and wear it often under sweaters and jackets. By the way, love your handbag.

My chambray shirt is from Old Navy. It’s a bit loosey goosey, so I can’t ever really just wear it all by itself, but I’ve found it’s generally quite cooperative for belting, layering under something, layering over something (if it’s left open), or tucking into pants/shorts. I’ve honestly probably gotten more mileage out of that shirt than anything I own because it’s so darn versatile, but that’s kind of the nature of chambray, I think. But it is comfortable (doesn’t really feel very denim-y), and cheap! Hooray Old Navy!

My Chambray shirt is from JCrew Factory. It’s the only one I’ve owned, so I can’t speak to others, but I love mine! JCrew Factory usually has something similar to mine…I know because I’m always linking to them because I wear mine with EVERYTHING!

Well I have the exact same chambray top that you’re wearing and I love it. So I am no help. I almost wore it yesterday, layered under a sweater-ish top, but ended up changing into a different outfit altogether.
