December Things

Office Appropriate Outfits - Winter

December seems to mean two things: glittery holiday party outfits and the stomach flu.

One is clearly better than the other.

I wore this dress to my running club’s holiday party. It only gets worn about once a year (typically at the holidays or in Vegas)  but isn’t that the point of a sparkly dress? It’s not every day wear but it sure is fun.

On one hand, I’m on vacation so it’s not like I have a lot of responsibilities. On the other hand, I’m on vacation and somehow I have to get home. Fingers crossed I get better before I have to get on a plane!

I love the sparkly dress, but I hate that you’re sick! I also have a gold sequin dress that I’ve only worn once but I’m hoping to get some use out of it this year for New Year’s Eve/my birthday. I hope you get to feeling better soon so you can enjoy your vacation and get some safe and sound.

Oh NO! I’m so sorry you’re sick! It seems like everyone has come down with a stomach bug lately — several of my coworker’s kids are sick, one of my dance friends had to skip graduation last night because she’s sick, and now you’re sick, too. Bummer all the way around 🙁 I guess at least the stomach flu usually clears up in 24-48 hours, unlike a cold that can drag on foreverrrrrr, so hopefully you’ll be feeling back to normal super soon.

I once got the stomach flu right before a family vacation in high school. I was mostly over it by the time we left home, but I did get sick on the flight, and wasn’t feeling too great on the first day of vacation, but I was well enough to go to dinner with my family. Luckily it was gone by the next day and I was able to enjoy our vacation, which included lots of sight-seeing, lots of driving, white water rafting, hiking, visiting the Grand Canyon … and even a stop in Flagstaff (on our way to Sedona), if I recall correctly.
