The Perfect Gift So You Can Coordinate With Your Dog

Is anyone else freaking out about gift shopping right about now? I know I am. I’ve gotten some fun things for people but I’m also feeling really far behind! One of my goals this year was to shop local or at least shop from non-big box stores but it’s been difficult to find the time. Plus, since I’m going out of town for a few days in the middle of this month I’m losing one entire weekend to shop!

The Yahoo! Style site – thankfully optimized for mobile devices so I can browse at the airport

Which is why I’m glad I learned that Yahoo! Style is putting together some AWESOME gift guides for basically everyone on my gift giving list. They’re doing one each day and each one has a different angle. Of course, I immediately gravitated toward the one for Dog Lovers.  Because clearly Chewie needs a gift for his first Christmas with us.

And what better thing to get him than this adorable collar?

I mean, really. We already know that I like to color coordinate with Chewie. So, a red and black buffalo plaid collar? How perfect would that be?

He could wear it while I wear my red and black plaid shirt and we’d both be right on trend.

Or I could exchange the shorts for a skirt or pants and his collar would add just the right amount of pattern to this black and red look.

I also have plans to take my bow dress and convert it for winter by wearing it over a turtleneck and tights. Wouldn’t the two of us be adorable if we did some pattern mixing?

Style not only has a gift guide for your feline friend, they also have a great article on what to wear for National Cat Day.  Where’s the article for National Dog Day, you ask? I think I’ll have to get right on creating that one. Clearly Chewie and I have this whole thing down pat.

Now excuse me, I’m off to buy a collar….

why your dog is wearing a pinch/prong collar and then also with the spikes inside?

It is a prong collar. We use it for walk training. It keeps him from pulling when he sees squirrels and sparrows. I know some people are anti-prong collar but we’ve found on several of our dogs that it works wonders for training purposes. He’s pretty much outgrown it at this point (those pics were taken awhile ago) so we don’t need to use it all the time.
