Magic Pants

Casual Friday · Office Appropriate Outfits - Fall

Do you ever buy something and are surprised at just how much you like it? No? Just me? Is that a sign of a shopping addiction?

Anyway, let’s move on. These jeans. I mentioned them when I wore them the first time. They’re soft and stretchy and comfy. I poo-pooed all the bloggers and Old Navy who swore that the Rockstar Skinny Jeans would look good on everyone. I said no way.

I take it back.

I ordered these with an Old Navy gift card because I wanted some olive green jeans. They’re more hunter green than olive but I forgive them. I also forgive that they are a bit too tight in the calves to wear sans boots because they look amazing with my brown riding boots. I didn’t even try them on before ordering them and they ended up fitting perfectly.

So, yeah, maybe the Old Navy Rockstar jeans really are the magic pants everyone said they were. camel-sweater-green-jeans-plaid-blanket-scarf-2

Those look great on you! Outfit works so well with that scarf! I love all the colors of the Rockstar jeans (and the price) but they never worked on me…hopefully they make some of their other cuts in colors STAT!

YUP. I swear by Old Navy jeans. Their Divas are the best thing that has ever happened to me, but the Rockstars are a close second (the only issue I have with the Rockstars I own is that their a tiny bit long, so I have to cuff them or else they drag on the ground. All things considered, that’s an exceptionally minor complaint, and one that’s pretty easy to deal with.). I don’t know if there’s ANYTHING clothing related that makes me so happy as being able to order jeans online without needing to try them on and having them fit like a dream when they arrive. PLUS Old Navy puts their jeans on sale every now and again, so usually you can get them for like $20/pair. YES PLEASE.

That’s interesting that you say they’re too long because I actually ordered these in a Long length because the regular ones are too short! I’m not that much taller than you but I’m all legs and no torso ๐Ÿ™‚

I am LOVING that outfit!! I have never tried Old Navy jeans but this makes me curious enough to bring some back to the dressing room next time I am in the store.

Try ’em! I had two pairs of the Diva cut a while back and liked that those weren’t as tight on my calves. But these fit better in the waist so I guess it’s a trade off.

I poo-poo’d Target jeans, but I have been on the hunt for affordable black high-waisted skinny jeans … and I was at Target the other day and their jeans were 40% off, and they had high-waisted skinny jeans in Black and Dark Wash … AND THEY FIT ME REALLY WELL. Lately I’ve been finding that if a pair of skinny jeans fits my claves and quads, they are going to be super loose in my waist/hips (and crotch … not a good look). So now I’m rocking some Target jeans. Sure, they might not last very long, but who cares, they fit. I’m debating going back and buying a second pair to have on hand when these do wear out.

I had a pair of Rockstar jeans and they fit really well but were too low for me. I like high-waisted pants now. I’m OK with that. I found Old Navy’s Diva fit worked well for me, but again, too low for me.

The Rockstar ones I bought are mid-rise (not the original low-rise) so they definitely come up higher. But I have a really short torso so maybe that’s why the mid-rise ones work for me.
