Accidentally Happy

Casual Clothes · Style Imitating Art

Saturday was another one of those days when the stars aligned and I was able to accomplish lots of fun things. Including a brunch at Chicago Q with various people, one of which was Erin from Color Me Styled who was able to snap some outfit photos for me.

Why were we at brunch? Well, Farissa from WhatRUWearing invited us to attend to learn more about the new novel Accidental Happiness by Meredith Rachek.

accidental-happinessI started the book on my Kindle on Saturday morning and was interested to chat with Meredith about the process of writing a novel. It took her 5 years! The book itself is the story of a relationship between high school seniors, Becky and Brian, told from two different points in time: one before a huge event in their lives and the other after. So far I’m enjoying it and I’m looking forward to seeing where it goes. If you’re interested in reading it and can’t find a hard copy (in case you don’t have a Kindle) let me know and I’ll hook you up with the author herself to purchase a copy!

Of course, the other thing that made me accidentally happy on Saturday was realizing that once again I’d subconsciously put together an outfit that works for today’s Style Imitating Art challenge. The colors this week were an orange-red, teal, and brown from a painting called “The Canyon“.
