Office Appropriate Outfits - Fall · Style Imitating Art

I had every intention of participating in this week’s Style Imitating Art challenge but man, sometimes life just gets in the way. For example, I had visions of wearing my black sweater with my faux leather pants and black booties but I couldn’t find my black sweater. So then I switched it up with this outfit, took pictures, but then didn’t have time to blog until now!

And then I had all kinds of issues with this outfit. The jeans bunched up at my knees with these boots. I feel that the boots are too pointy for what’s in style right now (although, since these are the most expensive shoes I own, I don’t think I’ll be replacing them any time soon). And then I was having troubles taking pictures because it was so sunny.

Sigh. Difficulties all around. Ah, well. I suppose if that’s the worst part of my life right now I’m doing pretty well, don’t you think?

I found your comment about “I feel that the boots are too pointy for what’s in style right now” interesting and thought-provoking. I have two pairs of heeled boots with a bit of a squared-off toe that I haven’t worn in awhile, and I’ve been wondering why. I think those feelings are similar to what you voiced, that the squared-off toe doesn’t feel quite in style right now. But they’re nice boots, and I’m not getting rid of them. And fashion is a constant cycle, so I’m sure they’ll be “in” again eventually! 🙂
