When Jen picked this painting for this week’s Style Imitating Art challenge I admit I was stumped. I had no idea what I could wear that came even close to anything this lovely ladies are wearing. Especially since I knew that Jen would nail it and get all the little details just right. She’s good at that!

But then I remembered that it’s not about how I interpret it as a competition with the other ladies who participate. Nope, it’s all about what makes me feel good. And what made me feel good last week was a maxi dress with a cardigan and a scarf.

It was almost 90 degrees with humidity the day I wore this outfit but my office is freezing so the scarf and the cardigan were necessary. However, it also transitioned perfectly to riding a Divvy bike home from work once removing the cardigan and scarf. And thanks to Maggie’s suggestion I was able to use a hair tie to “knot” my dress at my knees and bike with only minimal flashing of other people.

In the end I thought this outfit was a nice modern homage to the 114 year old painting. A long dress, a scarf, and layers.

In other news, we took Chewie to doggie daycare for the first time last week and they said he did great! He was pretty sleepy for the rest of the evening, too. We’re taking him again tomorrow so fingers crossed it goes well again.

Also in Chewie-related news, he seems to have developed a weird bump next to his left eye.

He’s still super handsome but I think it’s beginning to mar his good looks! Unfortunately, the vet told us they’d have to sedate him to biopsy it and figure out what it is. We’ll probably be doing that before the end of the month. Ah, puppies. It’s never end with them, isn’t it?
