Weekend Silver Lining

Office Appropriate Outfits - Summer

So, I mentioned on Friday that I was looking forward to having an entire day to myself on Sunday. I had grand plans! Go to Goodwill and look for jeans to turn into cut-offs. Head to Athleta to cash in some gift certificates. Do ALL my laundry. Guess what I did instead?

I actually ended up spending two hours at the dog park with my husband and my pup. See, on Saturday Chewie figured out how to play in the doggie wading pool and we wanted him to enjoy it some more.

It took him awhile but, if you follow me on Instagram, you see that he ended the day as one wet pup.

I also took a nap, which seems to be my weekend M.O. lately. I put on some old episode of some forensics show from the Investigation Discovery channel via Netflix and pass out on the couch.

And, of course, since it’s Sunday I made our weekly dinner menu and grocery list and we went to the store.

But what about my outfit?

Mint cardigan, floral pencil skirt, silver shoes

I’ve wanted to wear this skirt with this cardigan ever since I got this skirt! I don’t know why it took me so long. And the shoes? I’m in love with them. I’ve been wanting a pair of silver heels for almost a year but couldn’t find any that weren’t super-duper high. Then I found these silver flats at Sole Society. I still had credit there and flats are more my office dress code speed these days.

These shoes might be making a lot of appearances so hopefully you won’t get sick of them!

    Hey Erin,

These shoes are great. I actually got a pair of shoes in a slightly darker “armour” color in the same model I wore in black on my post today. They call it armour but it’s basically dark silver. So I’m definitely a fan of the metallic shoes and love how versatile they are. You’re right that the cardigan and skirt go well together and I know those shoes will get lots of use. Hopefully, like you said, they just won’t have to be accompanied by band aids for too long. (Sometimes I wear shoes around my house to help break them in without having to wear them for TOO long, like all day at work, to avoid blisters.)

Thanks for sharing and linking up again!

I actually have a pair of pewter Sperry’s on the way to me right now courtesy of eBay…to replace another pair of silver boat shoes I’ve worn into the ground. Clearly I might have a problem with buying metallic shoes 🙂

Love the shoes! Do not apologize for wearing them a lot in the upcoming months…I can’t wait to see more of them (…in my own closet, preferably!)

Those shoes are adorable! My office dress code is super hard to figure out- some people wear jeans, other people are more paired down business casual and some are super dressy! So far I’ve been dressing up- I figure I want to make a good impression before I go back to my slob ways. 😉

Our dress code is literally “where what makes you comfortable.” Seriously. That’s how it’s written in the employee handbook! So, yeah, it’s all over the place.
