On this Friday I’m participating in another Style Imitating Art style challenge. In addition to not wearing any black again today, I’m using this photo, chosen by Jess of Animated Cardigan to come up with my outfit.

So, of course there’s the pink in the blazer. And I added the polka dot sweater and the pearls as an homage to the dots on the painting. This outfit is actually perfect for today’s weather because the sweater is short-sleeved which means I won’t get too hot with our heat wave of 32 degrees!

Also, pairing pink with neutrals such as gray or black make it a lot more appropriate for wearing in the winter. The last time I wore this blazer it was still chilly outside and I paired it with black to keep it from looking too much like spring.

So, if you’re looking to add some color to your winter wardrobe, don’t forget about pink. It’s not just for spring and summer anymore!

Ha, I was worried about dressing too warmly today, too. I guess that’s one thing I’ll grant the extreme cold — at least I never worried about overheating!

But thank you for confirming that pink is acceptable in winter. I have a pink cardigan and whenever I think to wear it in the winter I’m always like, “Is this okay? Is it socially acceptable to wear pink when it’s not April?” And I’m glad to hear it is 🙂

I figure as long as I’m not wearing my pink with too many other pastels I’m probably fine 🙂

One of those really cold days (I think it was Tuesday?) I was sweating while walking to work. So, yeah, I think it is possible to overheat even when the temps are below freezing!

I think this is why I hate putting my jewelry away in a jewelry box. When it’s out I can grab items like this necklace at the last minute when I wouldn’t always think of them in advance.

I love the grey and pink color combination – very feminine! The pearls are very classy, too, and really compliment the white polka dots.

I am really excited to see how you handle this “no black” challenge – I wear black almost on a daily basis!

Is it bad to say that the inspiration painting kinda looks like sprinkes?(Because it totally makes me think Of sprinkes.). I’m jealous at how well you wear pink, it always looks so sophicated and smart. I love the pink blazer with the gray sweater, maybe that’s why you always look so chic, you just have a great eye for colors!

Ahh, I really love that polka dot sweater, especially the colors. That’s definitely something I could see pairing with some pops of pink (scarf!). Going to pin it now on my/our board. 🙂
