My mother was very generous to me when we went on our excursion to the Fashion Outlets of Chicago saying it was “back to school” shopping. You have to love it. I suppose that makes up for me going a bit crazy in July. I don’t normally include workout clothes in my shopping wrap-ups but I felt it would be dishonest considering that’s where the majority of my spending went in July. Thankfully I really love everything I bought and it has been worn several times for trapeze, running, and weight lifting.

The top from Collide Boutique is a tiny bit too small but for wearing underneath sweaters (the main reason I bought it) I think it will be fine.

And funny story about my new purse: About two weeks after I started using it I tossed a peach in there to have as a snack. Turns out I didn’t eat it. And forgot it was in there. Yeah. My purse now smells like peach schnapps even after a good cleaning.

I know Labor Day is supposed to be good shopping but instead of shopping for clothes I’m actually going to be shopping for a wedding ring. Yes, I’m already married. I’ve actually been married for 10 years. But on Saturday my friends took me out for the crazy bachelorette party I didn’t have 10 years ago. I took my wedding ring off to play the part of the bride-to-be and it didn’t make it home with me. I’m alternating between being cool about it and freaking out. But, there’s nothing to be done now but convince myself it was time for an upgrade anyway. Right?

Totally almost bought that floral LOFT skirt! So cute. And for the record, I think you are taking the lost wedding ring thing so well. If I were you, I would sorta blame us but thanks for not doing that.

I love that pink striped workout tank you bought at TJ Maxx. I’ve bought a few workout items there but never anything that cute!

I miss back to school shopping too! I actually went to Old Navy today and hit up their sale to pick up a few non-work “back to school” items so I can be comfy and cute for weekend labs. Totally justified, right?

Nice work! I hope Old Navy makes new colors/prints in those workout capris…were the ones you found at TJ Maxx cheaper than Old Navy? I will definitely have to check there for workout stuff- so cute! (I think I’m headed to the Fashion Outlets of Chicago this Thursday…hope I can get as lucky as you were!)

The TJ Maxx ones were about the same price as Old Navy. But, different colors & prints! I actually bought them at a TJ Maxx in Vernon Hills so you should have some luck finding good workout clothes in the ones by you!

Have fun if you make to the Fashion Outlets!

I drove by the Fashion Outlets of Chicago on my trip to Tennessee this weekend, and it was taunting me. Sometime I definitely need to get down there and check it out!

So sorry to hear about your ring! I guess 10 years is a good time to get an upgrade, though!

So sorry to hear about your wedding ring! 🙁 I’m pretty sure there would be no “keeping cool” if I did that so I really admire you for being able to do that.

Wow, I would have never guessed the bow belt was from Target, it looks like expensive leather in outfit pictures! It looks like you did a good job shopping, you found some really amazing deals, like those vince camueto heels. That striped skirt with the floral pattern is just straight up pretty and cool at the same time!

Funnily enough, I was searching ebay for a bow belt just like this but I wanted it to be real leather. Turns out the faux leather one from Target is actually perfect!

Oh that stinks about your wedding ring! I’d be so sad if I lost mine, but a lot of that is because it’s not even a year old yet and isn’t even fully paid for. Oh, and it’s pretty and meaningful and stuff 🙂 But maybe the universe is telling you to upgrade for your 10 year anniversary!

Do you think you’ll get something similar to what you had, or has your taste in rings changed a lot over the last 10 years? If you want to get crazy and design your own, I’d happily recommend the jeweler who made our rings – she was super nice and accommodating, and she’s located right next to Half Acre, which is an important quality in a jeweler.

I’m planning to get basically the same ring remade. Maybe with slightly larger stones 🙂 We met with a jeweler yesterday and he should have a concept for me by Friday.
