Look! I found some new friends today!

Fun, huh? Actually, they’re a little disconcerting! When I was taking the photos I kept thinking there was someone standing just out of the corner of my eye. They’re actually just a temporary art installation that I found yesterday while on my lunch break.

And speaking of found, this skirt is one of my new purchases from the White House Black Market at the Fashion Outlets of Chicago. I’d actually been eying it on ebay because it was sold out on the WHBM website and it’s just so cute! Black and white stripes and florals? I’d been looking for a floral skirt (I know, who am I??) and thought this one was a good foray into the trend because it’s pretty modern with the stripes. It’s also really structured being made out of heavy cotton and lined so I know the stripes won’t cling to the parts I don’t want them to cling to. So I was super excited when I found it on the clearance rack at the store.

Also, the skirt has so many fun colors in it. Pink, teal, purple and gold. I have plans to wear it with all of those colors. But for it’s first outing I stuck with black and white as part of today’s Trend Spin Link-Up and also to make the skirt the showcase piece.

What do you think?

Yay! You made it over to meet them! Hee hee. They are fun!

That skirt is neat! Is it separate pieces between the black, or is it all one piece with the black stripes on top?

What a gorgeous outfit! I LOVE that skirt- sounds like those colors in it make it SO remixable! I wonder if they carry different merchandise in the FOC store vs the Pleasant Prairie one? I’ll have to make a trip and compare 🙂

Literally the very first thing I thought when I saw this post was, “Wow, that skirt is SO cute!” How fortunate that you were able to find it at the outlets, because it looks like something that would be great for spring and summer.

Those statues look so uncomfortable hahaha. Particularly one you have pictured twice. The one sitting down just looks very depressed. Poor metallic friend 🙁

The statues are a little bit creepy. I didn’t realize they had put them sitting down on the benches until I walked over to the park. It’s rather disconcerting to see real people sitting next to the metal people.

Okay, that is an awesome skirt. I love the floral, love the stripes. It looks super comfortable too – win win!! 🙂
