Last time I participated in Style Imitating Art you all seemed to love it! So I decided to participate again. This time the selection is a Roy Lichtenstein work called The Oval Office.  I’m sort of bummed that this painting was chosen AFTER the Lichtenstein exhibit left the Art Institute of Chicago. Because how cool would it have been if I could have taken my photos in front of more Lichtenstein work, hmm?

Since I don’t own yellow clothing I focused on the red, white, and blue aspect of it.  Hence the red jacket, the blue and white striped shirt, the denim skirt, and my new Vince Camuto wedges with that are both black and blue! Of course, I tossed on my yellow bracelet so I didn’t leave the yellow out completely.

Also, these are my new Vince Camuto’s that I purchased at the Fashion Outlets of Chicago. Unfortunately, the downside to shopping at outlets is that you usually can’t find any of the items you purchased online. Which means that if you want to buy these shoes you’re going to have to find your own Vince Camuto outlet in person. Or you could go buy these which are currently on sale for under $40 and are SO CUTE! In fact, I think I will be purchasing these myself.

So, other than more shoe shopping I’ll be spending my weekend taking a free personal training class I won by participating in a Nike Chicago program, having a sleepover with some friends, and then doing the bike leg of a triathlon relay on Sunday. Oh, and attending my running club’s summer picnic. Anyone else think I’ll need a weekend to recover from my weekend?

P.S. It seems that when I wear this skirt I wear this top, too. Here’s how I wore them together last time so that I can link up with AJ Wears and her Friday Remix series.

Love EVERYTHING about this look — you totally nailed the inspiration painting! The pop of yellow in the bracelet, the pattern-mixing, the sense of playfulness with the denim skirt and open-toe shoes, the shoes OMG the shoes! Loooooooove. I know I’m gushing, but seriously, top 5 fave for me. Pinning right now! 😀

I SO wish I could have found these shoes online! They are so cute and came in several different color combinations. Dang, you VC for not making your outlet shoes available for online shopping!

I wondered where this was headed when I saw the title of the post! Definitely think you nailed it with all those stripes, and I like that your outfit is patriotic without being all OMG AMERICA! Also those shoes are faaaaaaabulous. Sounds like you’ve got a very active weekend coming up! Have fun!

Ooooh, Vince Camuto shoes are SO comfortable. (and these are so pretty, they were the first thing I noticed about your outfit, I love the low wedges with the ankle strap, they look really easy to run around in.) the idea of channeling a work of art is really fun, I like how you took the different elaments of the picture, I can see the correlation between the two! Loooove, that jacket…
