There’s just something about pairing a flowing snakeskin print shirt with a traditional navy pencil skirt that makes my heart go all aflutter. The top is a little bit edgy yet the skirt is totally preppy, right? Plus, the fitted skirt really offsets the slightly oversized top. Pairing something fitted with something not quite so fitted is perfect for the office. Too tight pieces would look too much like you were going to a club. Two oversized pieces can make you look larger than you actually are.
Plus, the fact that this snakeskin print is cream and tan instead of black and white and that I paired it with a navy skirt instead of a black skirt tones it down and brings it into office-appropriate territory versus night out on the town territory.
I have to give a shout-out to Valerie who picked up this top for me from Kohl’s after I saw it on both her and Audrey. This is my first time wearing it and I think it’s going to become a regular in my wardrobe because of how comfortable it is and the versatility of the neutral color scheme. It even has a built-in camisole! An excellent top for the office? You bet!
