Things on my mind today:

  • It’s hot outside. And when it’s hot outside I want to wear as little as possible. No necklaces, no bracelets, and no sleeves. Thank goodness I can wear sleeveless to work.
  • I bought these shoes two years ago on a whim and I love them. Unfortunately, they are faux leather and, as such, they aren’t holding up very well. But I can’t find a suitable replacement just yet.
  • Today is Inspiration Monday and today’s photo reminded me that I really want a skirt in some kind of summery print. Floral or bright colors or something. Still on the lookout for one that catches my eye.
  • The last time I recall taking a picture with this top on I feel like my arms were a lot slimmer. But, let me tell you something, that is MUSCLE in these arms now and it helps me do amazing tricks at trapeze.
  • I spent my weekend doing incredibly fun things (standup paddleboarding, drinking sangria, hanging with friends, going to the zoo and riding bikes with my husband) so I didn’t get my DIY Jean Shorts tutorial done yet. I hope to have it done by Wednesday but I’m running a 5K race every night this week (yes, I’m crazy) so who knows?

And with that, I’m off to bask in the air conditioning in my office at work before the sweatfest that will be tonight’s Burgers & Beer 5K!

What are you up to this week?

Reminder! I’m over on Chippmunk talking about the great deals I get from The Limited and I would love it if you voted for me! Not only is it awesome blog exposure for me but there’s chance I could win a $100 gift card. And you know I’d pick The Limited and show you how to get the most for $100! Just click on the “Love it” button.

Man, of all weeks to have the hottest week of summer, huh? I guess at least you’re only doing 5Ks, not anything longer than that. I imagine you won’t be all-out racing all of them, so hopefully it won’t be *too* miserable all week!

Feel ya on the wearing as little as possible in this weather. Heat’s up, sundress is on. Sigh. I hate commuting in dresses. Although since I ran this morning, I’m currently wearing compression shorts under my dress, which kind of negates the whole no pants = more comfortable outfit thing. Should’ve just worn shorts to work! Oh well.

Also, super super super cute top. Big fan. Although I guess that’s kind of how I feel about anything purple.

I bought this skirt recently and LOVE it. It’s only $9.99 online right now! (I got it when it was on clearance for $19.99) http://www.jcpenney.com/dotcom/women/talls/view-all-brands/worthington-a-line-print-skirt/prod.jump?ppId=pp5002530286&N=287&pageSize=96&searchTerm=skirt&topDim=Brand&topDimvalue=worthington&dimCombo=Brand%7C&dimComboVal=worthington%7C&currentDim=Brand&currentDimVal=worthington&catId=SearchResults
I love those shoes and have something similar that I bought at Target a few years ago.

Cute top! And I think your arms look great! Toned is definitely better than slim in my book.

Target has some cute printed pencil skirts, and Boden has a ton of cute skirts on sale now (which is the only way to buy Boden, IMO). Hope you can find one you like!

Of course! I wear their “long” size at 5’9, for whatever that’s worth length-wise. Loft has a few printed skirts on sale + 50% off today too. Not to totally enable you :)

I was going to ask, have you do a Wed post on floral prints? I really like them, but wonder what is in style, and what is too “grandma-y.”
