Well, you’d think it would be easy to come back to work after a four day weekend when I already had my outfit all planned out thanks to Two Birds and their Inspiration Monday. White top? Check. Blue patterned pants? check. Nude sandals? Check. Arm party? Check and check.
Yet, somehow, I managed to forget to put on my engagement ring (I remembered my wedding ring, though. But since it’s a wrap ring it looks kind of silly by itself) AND earrings. Seriously. Waking up was super hard after an awesome weekend that included a four mile race, a rooftop BBQ and fireworks watching, planting flowers on our balcony, a 20 mile bike ride, Zumba in the park, a trip to the Taste of Lakeview, and FINALLY checking out the local Goodwill.
Needless to say, I made the most of my weekend and my body wanted it to keep going.
On the plus side, I bought some new curl cream this weekend and this morning it kept my hair curly without making it crunchy. Score!
Also, don’t forget to vote for your favorite outfit of June! So many of you loved my white lace pants but they’re currently behind! Maybe it’s a tough choice…
That outfit looks so classic and chic! (Although I’d feel naked without my rings!) No worries though- your wrap bracelet looks gorgeous and groups nicely with your other accessories! 🙂 Sounds like a fun filled long weekend! How was Goodwill?!
I felt VERY naked without my ring. And Goodwill was good. I bet you would have a field day 🙂
I guess I still wanted to be on vacation too… I forgot to set my alarm last night but by some miracle I woke up right on time!
I’m definitely going to have to get some of that curl cream.
Isn’t it creepy when your body knows to wake you up?
your hair looks fab!
I’m always a sucker for classic black and white 🙂
It’s actually navy and white but I’ll give you a pass since my camera doesn’t like to photograph navy 🙂
so glad you took an up-close of those lace pants
so cute!
Brett
Yeah, these pants are really difficult to photograph!
Navy really is hard to photograph, as is lace — but thank goodness for close-ups! I can totally see the inspiration outfit in your interpretation. Nicely done! 🙂
Thanks!
Whoa, super busy weekend! I’m really impressed you look so put together. I like that top a lot (but I have the feeling it would make my upper arms look like hams–maybe a post soon about how which sleeve cuts give you ham arms??)!
My mom claims that anything cap sleeved makes her upper arms look larger than they are so she only buys sleeveless or longer than cap sleeves.
Wow, I think I’d just want to sleep after that weekend! You’ve been so busy but it sounds like the fun kind of busy, it is always really hard to come back after those long weekends and get back into a work mind set. I wanted to pop in really fast and say hi, I’ve been really neglectful lately and I miss saying hi to you. (Plus, every time I don’t feel like going for a run I just think of you and how awesome you are and it makes me get my butt up and run.)
I really like the strappy sandals with the lace pants, it’s such a cool pairing!
Miss you, lady! You must be super busy and worn out yourself!
Ooo! I should try that curl cream!
Did you remember your phone? And lunch? Ha ha. Just asking. I know you 😉
That top is really interesting! I like that it kind of has a different cut style. Uh… if that sentence makes any sense.
Yep, phone and lunch both made it to work with me 🙂
Would you actually wear your hair down if you put product in it like that?
Probably not. Too lazy 😉
I do! I have a couple of split neck dresses that I can’t really wear necklaces with, and it drives me crazy. I spend the whole day nervously rubbing my neck.
Love the pants.
