Remember those two short sleeved sweaters I bought in May that I couldn’t decide about? Well, I decided to return them to The Limited. But, as always, any time I go into The Limited I have to look around. And this time I hit the jackpot! For $7 less then the cost of those two sweaters I got the tweed jacket and the lace pants! The tweed jacket is something I’d been coveting and the lace pants were an impulse purchase but I can tell already that they are going to be a wardrobe staple this summer. I think these were the better buy.

As for the running shirts, I didn’t NEED them, but as part of my Swirlgear ambassadorship I get a discount on their items. So, here they are in my closet. And I currently have some inventory at home that I might shop from this month.  Just, you know, one more shirt. That I can wear for trapeze!

And the swimsuit? My mom generously purchased it for me after my favorite swimsuit committed suicide during vacation.

Spending a week on vacation where I sat in the sun and read books all day was pretty nice for my wallet. Not much shopping in June and that’s perfectly alright with me. My goal for July? Keep up my low-key shopping but try and check out the Goodwill store closest to my apartment. I’ve never been much of a thrifter but I’ve heard good things about this one so who knows?

Are you hoping to hit up any Fourth of July sales? I’m trying to avoid them but if you’re not then Laura at Laura Wears keeps a great list of sales and sales codes! Or see Penny Pincher Fashion’s list of sales.

RIP swimsuit. I missed that post the first time around so I had to go back and read it. I finally got a new one last year after wearing the same one for 6 years. All I want is a top that fits well but that is so hard to find. And when you’ve flashed a bunch of people whilst in your swimsuit (yes, that really happened to me. Oh wait, is this the part where I am supposed to say it happened to a friend?) a good fitting top becomes even more important.
Now that I’ve told you way too much…I really like those pants!

I, uh, accidentally flashed some cruise-ship goers the first time that brown and pink swimsuit broke. It sort of exploded off of me when I sat up while sunbathing on deck. Oops!!

When embarrassing things happen to me my usual thought is “It’s okay, these people will never see you again.” But in my case there were two of my guys friends there so I definitely saw them again. Then I was really embarrassed but now I just think it’s really funny.

I am excited to see what you get while thrifting! 🙂

It looks like you got much better items when you traded in the sweaters! Yay!

Still waiting to see something orange… or orange-ish…

I love that red tweed jacket and oh my gosh, it was only $20!?!?!?!? YES!!!!! Love the bikini, too, and so glad you were able to find one that met all of your personal criteria. SCORE!!!

Have you been over to the Goodwill store on Washington and Elizabeth (I think that’s the cross-street)? I always donate my old clothes, etc., there, and have shopped there a few times, too. They’ve got some great stuff for incredible prices!

For items like that blazer I LOVE finding them on super sale at The Limited. There was no way I was going to pay full price for it but for $20 I knew it was a steal!

And, yes, that’s the Goodwill store I’m going to check out!

I stopped at The Limited in Water Tower yesterday (now that I “work” there – I work for a mall management company and WTP is one of our properties) and they had 40% off EVERYTHING. I did some damage (to my credit). But you know, new job NEEDS new clothes. And I really need to start buying better clothes, not just Target, H&M and Old Navy all the time.

I’m a big thrifter, and in my experience, the stores are hit or miss, but you quickly discover which ones are worth going back to. Down in the south burbs, the Goodwill and the Savers near me were pretty great. I also loved Clothes Mentor, but because that’s not like a charity thrift store, the prices were higher but the selection was awesome. But now I need to discover the stores in my new ‘hood!

LOVE The Limited 40% off sales. That’s totally when I restock my wardrobe.

I’ve heard good things about the West Loop Goodwill and actually there’s another style blogger who wears stuff from there all the time so I hope it turns out to be a good spot.
