A few weeks ago I was lamenting the fact that I didn’t have a comfy dress to wear to work. Um, hello! What about this one? It’s jersey. It has an empire waist. And it looks great with a blazer. And considering tonight is our annual work dinner at a Brazilian steakhouse (we affectionately call it the “meat Olympics”) I needed something that would work for the office and for the impending food baby.

Also, here’s a fun tip – if you work in an office that doesn’t allow sleeveless tops but can’t stomach the idea of wearing a blazer in the summer, try a short sleeved one. All the sophistication, half the warmth.

I love the dress! Good idea about short sleeved blazers.
I love your hair in these pics. Do you put a product in it or just wash and go? I have natural curls too but they don’t always cooperate with me.

So, my hair. I get it wet and condition it every morning but only shampoo every other day. Then I get out of the shower and let it air dry for a bit while I make and eat my oatmeal. Then I put Big Sexy Hair Root Pump Spray Mousse at the roots and scrunch Dove Nourishing Amplifier Mousse on the ends. Then I blow dry it using a diffuser. Finally, I use Dove hairspray on it.

The Meat Olympics sound awesome! I haven’t been to a Brazilian steakhouse in years, I’m a little envious that it’s an annual event!

That’s a really nice jersey dress! I love how sneaky those always feel – that looks perfectly office appropriate (especially with the detailing at the neckline), but you’re essentially wearing a t-shirt.

    Bahahahaha meat Olympics. Nice.

I have a jersey dress that I looooove to wear to work during the summer (yes! Even I wear dresses to work sometimes! But only when it tops 90 degrees 😉 ). It’s so loose and comfortable and ideal for avoiding arriving to work halfway melted.

OMG Meat Olympics! :dies: So perfect, hahaha!

I really like the way you styled that dress. It looks like a good comfy piece that’s versatile and easy to dress up or down… which is perfect for a work-to-going-out kinda day!

When I was looking for similar ones online I think Macy’s had the best selection. They’re typically part of a suit so maybe that’s why you haven’t noticed them? 🙂

    Meat Olympics.

That needs to become an official thing, like right now.

I like how this dress has some fantastic draping going on around the waistline and the white blazer looks pretty cool with it. (Literally cool. Whew, blazer get toasty on those warm days, that’s a great idea with the short sleeved ones!)
