It’s Friday!!!  Who’s excited???  This girl right here. After a really long week at work I needed to celebrate Friday by wearing something comfy yet put-together for work. I know you can’t really tell from the photo, but these are NOT leggings. They’re actually skinny dress pants. But they’re comfy like jeans so they’re really a win-win situation.

Flat boots, a boyfriend cardigan that covers my butt, and a soft scarf round out my casual Friday outfit. For many people there’s no way this would fly in the office, but I recently read somewhere that you should take your cues from your boss. If your boss wears it then consider it fair game (caveat: your boss wears embroidered sweatshirts. Please don’t wear those to the office). And my boss has worn outfits almost exactly like this so I’m in the clear!

Speaking of being in the clear, I’m still attempting to stick to my goal of giving you all budget-friendly options for items you might need to round out your closet. And in this week’s edition I give you this entire outfit for $128.62 including the boots!

So, if your Friday needs a pick-me-up, throw on a comfy but cute outfit. And if you don’t have one, then use the links above to partake in some retail therapy. I won’t judge.

P.S. I mentioned that I was going to trapeze class last night. Well, I learned a new trick (called a set whip). Here are some photos:

I LOVE this outfit! Did you get that cardigan recently at Nordstrom Rack?

Sadly, no. I think I bought this cardigan two years ago? I was mad because I bought one in a different color at full price at regular Nordstrom and then saw this on the Nordstrom Rack website like two months later.

Bahaha we totally have an embroidered sweatshirt wearer in my office. Not my boss, though, nor do I own one, so I guess I won’t follow those fashion cues ;)

Skinny dress pants, eh? Interesting! I suppose I don’t go dress pants shopping often, but I didn’t know such a thing existed!

Yes, these pants have belt loops and everything!

I could have made a whole list of office don’ts but every office is so different in what is allowed that it would be kind of difficult. But, there are some things that should just not be worn outside your own home. And embroidered sweatshirts are one of them.

I also didn’t know about these skinny dress pants. I like this outfit though and I think I could wear it to my office.

You can see all the ways I’ve worn these pants here. They’re actually very versatile!

Super cute (and comfy) outfit! I love those boyfriend cardigans…good for covering the butt if you pair it with black stretchy pants, too!

    I love your trapeze pics!

Sigh. You do NOT want to know what my boss wears. You would not tell me to repeat it ;)

I’d like some pants like that!

Check out the links I put in! Two pairs to choose from at two different price points. Although, I haven’t seen the Target ones in person so I can’t totally vouch for them.

And, yes, some bosses should not be used as a basis for what one SHOULD wear to work.

That is one of my favorite casual Friday outfits!! Love it on you :)

You look awesome! I love your purple cardigan, and those pants are AWESOME! I want to look for some like that. I’ll have to check out the link you posted. Your trapeze pictures look fantastic…I bet it’s a huge thrill!

These pants are great because they can be dressed up or down! Definitely check out the links above.

And, yes, trapeze is amazing. I always leave with a huge smile on my face.

That scarf is really pretty — it both elevates and softens the overall look :)

    • Erin @ Loop Looks March 17, 2013 at 5:46 pm #

Thanks! It’s also super soft. Not sure why I don’t wear it more often!

Oh my goodness – trapeeze class! Very cool! Looks fun but scary (I have a fear of heights!) at the same time

    • Erin @ Loop Looks March 18, 2013 at 12:31 pm #

Yeah, I suppose if you had a fear of heights that trapeze would not be your thing!

That trapeze class looks like SO much fun! That must be like the coolest feeling, flying through the air like that!

I love this outfit so much, it’s so simple but it’s so perfect because of that. That scarf just pulls the whole look together and I really like that you wore the bright white shirt underneath the long cardigan, it brightens the whole look up and keeps the scarf from looking too bright for the outfit. I really like the little touch that your silver rings lend to the look!

One of my favorite parts about trapeze class is that not everyone in class is at the same level. So you can see what you’re going to learn in the future by watching the more advanced flyers! It makes me excited to go.
