Hooray for Friday! Seriously, this week has felt 1,000 years long, am I right? At least I had one piece of this outfit planned out when I heard that today’s Friday Fancies theme was lace. Throw on my lace top with jeans and a blazer and I’m good to go. At least, I thought I was. I originally planned to wear this outfit with either my nude heels or my nude, gold studded flats, but I feel like I’ve been wearing those nude flats all the time! I wanted to give some love to something else in my closet. Hence the leopard print flats.
And then I was struggling with what necklace to wear. Finally it struck me: wear a scarf. Wear this floral scarf, actually. It hasn’t gotten love on the blog and I thought it contrasted nicely with the lace and the leopard.
So, there you go. My thought process when getting dressed. Seriously, throw a scarf and a blazer on with just about anything and your outfit will go from “eh” to “yeah”!

Pairing the fancy sequined skirt with a neutral colored cardigan and nude heels helps keep it from being too bling-y or overwhelming.
The fact that I paired two pieces that could be considered slightly casual but added heels and a blazer makes my outfit work appropriate without being traditional.
Ever since I bought this tie-neck top I have been wanting to pair it with these pants.
Today I’m going to share with you one of my favorite ways to this lace dress that I’ve come up with yet.

I wear my leopard flats with everything…haha. The scarf really gives the outfit the extra pop. Love it!

Yes! This outfit definitely needed the scarf.
LOVE this! pwetty scarf!
Thanks!
Love the scarf with the blazer and the texture of the lace! I have a similar lace top and will definitely have to try it with a blazer now

Is your similar top the one you’re wearing today? I would look great with a blazer!
Yes it is!!
Loooooove your scarf! The colors really add something to your outfit and that shade of purple is one of my favorites.
This is why we need to make a group outing to the JF&A Show. This scarf cost me less than $3!
I seriously need to get a pair of leopard flats – you’re the second to mention them this week.
And I really love that scarf! The purple looks so pretty on you, and it’s so springy!
You’re in luck because I think leopard flats are really in right now. You should be able to find a pair somewhere
Great combination! The leopard flats look super nice and I like the scarf, too. I love how versatile those lace tops are, too!
I kind of bought this one on impulse and don’t LOVE it. It has three quarter length sleeves that aren’t lined and are so cute but the back is really funky and it makes it difficult to wear without something over it. Which sort of defeats the purpose of having cute sleeves…
I love your blazer, super cute with the lace top!
Thanks!
I have to ask – because you are in Chicago and it is still chilly. Do your feet get cold without socks? I have such a problem going without socks when it is cold out.
I wear Uggs during my commute to and from work (yes, I’m one of THOSE people) and then I wear nude knee-highs with my shoes after I take off the Uggs. Interestingly, the knee-highs keep my feet pretty warm in my office. It was also in the 40s on Friday so my feet were pretty warm even outside.
I love the scarf + blazer look! And wearing scarves as necklaces. I was doing that a lot last year!
LOL, your snow does look so sad down there!
Cute combo. I am addicted to scarfs and substitute them for necklaces all the time!
Thanks! They are an easy way to change up an outfit, aren’t they?
