Tonight I’m planning on attending the House of Gemmes Holiday Soiree and wanted to wear something a little bit fun.  So I decided to make sequins office-appropriate!   Okay, maybe this wouldn’t fly in a more conservative office, but by pairing the sequined jacket with a simple turtleneck and a gray skirt it goes from night to day without looking too ridiculous.

Now, if I’ve paired this jacket with a black skirt and a more low-cut top then it would fall into the evening wear category.  But just by toning down what it’s paired with you can extend the items in your wardrobe and make them work for multiple occasions.

I chose to wear simple jewelry for the same reason.  Well, that and I received this necklace as a gift from my friend Kim on Tuesday night and haven’t wanted to take it off since.

P.S.  It was cold and windy in my photo studio today.

I love the idea of a flashy jacket like this with an otherwise conservative outfit, but I have to wonder what my coworkers would think if I wore this. My office may be a bit more conservative than yours, though. Even still, I’d be curious to know if you got any comments throughout the day. You look great, though. Such a cool jacket!

If this jacket goes missing from your closet, I swear I didn’t steal it :looks around suspiciously: I’m in total lust with it! I wanted a sequin blazer ages ago, but couldn’t really find one that was “me”… but a sequin moto jacket like this? I’m totally jealous! And I love it dressed down for the office with the tone-on-tone like you’ve done. One of my favorite looks, I think!

My office is pretty casual so yes, I think they might be surprised with the sequins. But we also have lots of college students in our office who come in wearing jeans and t-shirts!

You just keep proving how versatile those turtlenecks are, every time I see you wear one I think “I totally need a turtleneck, look at how Erin makes them look so sharp and stylish!” The sequin blazer over it is just killing me, that is such a fun way to wear sequins that takes them away from the holiday party look. (Something I’ve never been able to figure out how to do.)

I just read through your interview on Franish’s blog, she’s another blogger that I always love to read so it was such a delight to see you featured there! (And wow, thanks for the little shout out, that was really sweet and just made my day that you like reading my blog. I always enjoy yours so much!)

I actually asked for another black turtlneck for Christmas so I can wear them more often! I just love them.

I look forward to your posts every day. Your style is so unique and your locations are such eye-candy! At least for someone who lives where we don’t seem to get winter any longer…
