So, my sort of moving target of a monthly budget is $150. Which means even if I hadn’t bought my faux fur vest using Poshmark credits I earned from sales I would still have come in under budget! Hooray!
I didn’t do any shopping on Black Friday or Cyber Monday, however. Honestly, I try not to buy myself much of anything between Thanksgiving and my birthday (January 12th, FYI) so that I don’t accidently buy something that someone else wanted to buy for me. I figure I can always stock up after the holidays.
This past month I had a few impulse purchases. I knew I wanted the gold polka dot top after seeing it on Franziska several times, I had been eying the houndstooth skirt for several months, and I’d saved the faux fur vest on Poshmark a few weeks before I bought it (just waiting for the shipping special ($5.50 for anything $25 and over) and earning enough credits). But the boucle jacket, the bubble necklace, the snake print skirt, and the earrings were just things that caught my eye. At least the earrings were for a good cause?

Pairing the fancy sequined skirt with a neutral colored cardigan and nude heels helps keep it from being too bling-y or overwhelming.
The fact that I paired two pieces that could be considered slightly casual but added heels and a blazer makes my outfit work appropriate without being traditional.
Ever since I bought this tie-neck top I have been wanting to pair it with these pants.
Today I’m going to share with you one of my favorite ways to this lace dress that I’ve come up with yet.

I have imposed a no-shop December as well. The only exceptions are gifts for other people (obviously), and I can use money or gift cards that I get for Christmas at the end of the month. Good luck to us!!
Sarah’s Real Life
I hope I get some money or gift cards! That will help me get the things that I don’t get off my wish list!
That full skirt is fun! Have you worn it yet?
I’ve been trying not to buy anything for me too. I’ve been successful so far (not counting the sports bras I bought for me today, lol).
I haven’t worn it yet. And this week is so crazy at work I probably won’t wear it until next week!
I’m so glad you got that shirt – do you love it?!
I do! I have so many outfit ideas for it.
Wow, I am impressed that that gorgeous blouse came from F21, it looked so expensive under your fur vest the other day!
I even saw another almost identical one at TJ Maxx recently!
