When I looked at the Inspiration Monday photo for this week I admit I was a little stumped.  It occurred to me I don’t own very many patterned toppers.  I own patterned tops, but not much in the way of blazers, jackets or cardigans.

I played around with a red blouse and my black pants.  I toyed with the idea of wearing a red cardigan.  But in the end I pulled this jacket on and even though it’s a little bit warm for it today I think it works.

I purchased this jacket via Poshmark.  If you have an iPhone and want to thrift shop or sell your own items from the comfort of your couch then you can sign up using code HBAMM and get a $5 credit!

Also, I just realized that I look like I could use another 24 hours of sleep.  I had a crazy fun weekend complete with running a half marathon so I’m a little worse for wear today.  But that’s no reason to look like a schlub otherwise!

Yeah, but I don’t have kids. From what I understand, having kids is like running a half marathon every single day.

Thanks! I’m pretty terrible at thrift shopping but Poshmark makes it easy.

That outfit looks comfy :) The jacket kind of reminds me of that one you bought when we went to Kohl’s last year in Feb… although I think it is nothing like it ;) Have you worn that one on the blog yet?

I love this outfit. I’ve been debating buying that tank from the limited and I love it so much on you I’m going to buy it (instead if stealing it from our closet..)

Pretty sure all my solid basic tank tops are from The Limited. FYI: This particular style runs kind of big.

All black with a pop of color somewhere is a pretty good bet when you don’t know what else to do!

You look great! And good job on finishing the half marathon! That’s a huge accomplishment!

Thanks! It was actually my second half marathon this year (and something like my 11th since 2009) but it was definitely the hilliest one I’ve ever run.

Oh wow, congratulations on the half marathon!
This is such a sleek, chic look, I really like the long, lean line the monotone black creates, then the patterned jacket adds a fun little splash of pattern to the look. And dude, is that a tiny tattoo I see on your foot there? :)

Thanks! The half marathon was ridiculously hilly which is something I’ve never really trained for. It’s hard to do when you live in Illinois which is pretty flat.

And, yes, that’s a tattoo on my foot :-) It says “spot” which was the name of the first dog my husband and I adopted.
