Green and navy may seem like more of a springtime combination but there was something about this outfit that screamed that it just needed to be worn today.  Maybe it was the slightly warmer temps.  Maybe it was that the sun was shining.  Maybe it was that I’m not quite ready to give up on wearing my cropped pants.  Whatever it was, this is what called out to me so I wore it.

Sometimes you just have to buck the expected color combinations for the season and wear what you love.

Also, I added some links to similar or to the exact products of some of the items I’m wearing.  Do you like having the links there?

I just can’t give up the crops yet, either. It’s going to have to happen soon, but I say do it to it! :)

I’ve been wearing a lot of skirts and whatnot lately, but am going to not stop wearing crops either. I’ll just put boots over them! Side zips mean they won’t bunch, so it’s all good :) LOVE the color of those pants.

What are your thoughts on wearing boots under the crops? Too much like high waters?

      • Rachel Jay October 16, 2012 at 11:43 am #

I think it depends on the boot and the cut of the pants. Ages ago I did a basic black knee boot under cropped skinny jeans and it was really cute. They were really high-heel boots though, and weren’t bunchy at all. Ankle boots might work too.

Clearly, I need to play around, see if I can duplicate my past (pre-blogger) success. I don’t have the jeans or the boots any more, so I’ll have to see if I can rock it with what I DO have.

I actually wore my skinny heel black knee boots with these green pants back in the spring and I think it looked okay. But, you’re right, it has to be the right boots!

I think people will find the links helpful!

It looks like we have some warm temps this week!

One last week of warm temps, maybe? You never know around here.

I’ll probably add links when I can just in case people are interested.

Love the color of these pants! The outfit is beautiful and give fall a fresh look!

I love colored pants! I just talked my (conservative) friend into some green pants not too long ago. Winter may be coming, but why drop all the color just because it’s getting cold out? I must say, the cropped pants look good on you. I don’t feel I pull cropped pants off very well.

I’ve gotten comments on my blog that people are surprised that my green pants are so versatile. They really are! Good for you for talking your friend into them. Do you think you’re too short or too tall for cropped pants?

      • Brittany October 17, 2012 at 8:13 pm #

I think I am…too both…if that makes sense. I am “short” but have long legs in comparison to my body, so it looks disproportioned.

I actually have long legs and a very short torso so I try to balance the cropped leg with a longer top and heels. That seems to help!

Great look! Love the combo of green and navy

    • Erin @ Loop Looks October 17, 2012 at 2:33 pm #

Thanks, Laura! Green and navy is a great combo and one I wouldn’t have thought to wear until this past year.

I’ve been loving all of the remixing you’ve been doing with these pants! (I’ll be silly and admit I didn’t know navy and green was a spring-time combination, but I love it, it’s very fresh looking.) I have a striped blazer almost just like this one, I would have never really thought to pair with with my green pants but now thanks to you, I’m going to have to give it a try!

    • Erin @ Loop Looks October 18, 2012 at 2:19 pm #

You’re not silly! Admittedly, I could have totally made up the green and navy combo being spring-ish but I do recall seeing it a lot this past spring which is why I thought that way. Looking forward to seeing your green pants and striped blazer combo!
