My new camera arrived yesterday afternoon. And you know what else arrived with it? A tripod!! So now I can take pictures in all kinds of new and exciting places. Provided I don’t care if people look at me funny.
I’m still using a Canon point-and-shoot but I think it takes pretty decent pictures. Sure, it doesn’t have all the fancy options and I can’t make the background all blurry, but it works. And it’s easy to use.
Changing subjects, I fell in love with this top at Fashion’s Night Out and my mom got it for me as a gift a few weeks ago. I’m really loving the rolled tab sleeve chiffon-esque blouses this year. This one in particular is so lovely in it’s simplicity that I’m pretty sure I’ll be wearing it a lot.
And, yes, I had to wear a jacket today. Welcome to fall!

Right now I’m pretty happy with my closet. But even so there are days when I stand there and stare at all the hangers and think, “I wish I had….”
I’ve had all of these clothing pieces in my closet for a long time. I keep wavering on whether or not to keep the cardigan and then it keeps staying.
Pairing the fancy sequined skirt with a neutral colored cardigan and nude heels helps keep it from being too bling-y or overwhelming.
The fact that I paired two pieces that could be considered slightly casual but added heels and a blazer makes my outfit work appropriate without being traditional.

Congrats on the tripod! I still use my P&S and have a small gorillapod I use sometimes. I have a big DSLR, but the P&S is easier to carry with me in my purse. I don’t like lugging the big camera around with me all the time. It’s just not convenient at all.
The shirt is lovely! What a great piece you can dress up like you have, or pair with jeans for a more casual look. Versatile clothing = WIN!!
I’ve been wanting a tripod for a while. I finally found one I liked and what with my camera falling off my makeshift one I also had the impetus to spend the cash. I feel the same as you about DSLRs. They take great pics but what a pain to haul around!
Yay for the tripod! How big is it? I woudn’t worry about people thinking you’re being funny! Who cares?!
I like the point and shot pics too. It would be nice to have a fancy camera some day, but it does so well!
The tripod collapses and becomes only about a foot long. It’s perfect for easy carrying. It even has its own bag!
Congrats on the tripod. I am still too scared to venture out in public with mine. So kubos for taking pics in a public-looking area
Love that blouse too! So modern.
Let’s see how brave I am when there are more people around! Thankfully I think all the students were in class when I was taking this pic (I was on a college campus).
Do you know how much I love this blouse? Perhaps. I’m pretty sure I’ve told you before.
Your look is perfectly professional for fall!

I just HAD to have this top. Thankfully my mom felt like spoiling me.
Loving those pointy shoes! And cheers to the weather changing! I hope you are participating in tomorrow’s copycat link up! I always love seeing your copies : )
I’m definitely participating tomorrow! It’s one of my favorite Fridays!
Conon makes a pretty nice point and shoot, my dad had one and it was way way superior to my little kodaik one. (And probably nicer than the one I have now.) They have so many options on them for shooting, I was shocked at the quality I got from his camera. So good luck with the new one, how nice you got a tripod as well! (Love tripod. So much easier!)
How fun to see you out and about, your outfit really fits with the background. This is such a sleek look, I am in love with these heels! Platforms are nice for the height, but a great pointy top pump with a low vamp just oozes class and a little bit of sexy. The heels play up the great pipping on this blouse, the black looks very graphic against the white and takes the shirt from being a plain white button up.
I love how pointy toed shoes elongate my legs!
What kind of camera do you use?
omgsh! You are at the quad at DePaul Lincoln Park by the statues! So cool! I love your outfit and the leather jacket.
i wasnt trying to be creepy but I know DePaul’s LPC campus like that back of my hand.
Not creepy at all! I love that you recognized it. I had a meeting at the library so I quick snapped a photo while I was there.
Cool!
