Summer’s Last Meow

Top – Old Navy | Pants – The Limited | Necklace – J. Crew via Poshmark | Shoes – Unisa via 6pm.com
Yesterday seemed like one last hurrah for summer (although, you never know in Chicago) so I wore sleeveless and sandals. And white. Although these pants are a bit more of a “winter white” than stark white so I think they transcend the calendar.
In fact, I wore a very similar outfit in June but I recently purchased this pink and gold J. Crew necklace and I think the different accessory paired with a slightly different colored pant changes the outfit up just enough.
Also, yes, I got my hair cut. I’m trying to embrace my wave which excited my hairdresser to no end (speaking of which, if you’re in Chicago and want a hairdresser recommendation my guy is pretty fantastic and only charges $35). Basically it’s shorter with more layers, especially around my face. Now I just have to figure out the best shampoo and conditioner to use!

For those of you looking for casual outfit inspiration, this one’s for you!
Nothing is classier to me than tweed and a pencil skirt.
A reader recently contacted me and asked for help with a pair of ankle boots she just bought.
Right now I’m pretty happy with my closet. But even so there are days when I stand there and stare at all the hangers and think, “I wish I had….”
I’ve had all of these clothing pieces in my closet for a long time. I keep wavering on whether or not to keep the cardigan and then it keeps staying.

I liked that outfit yesterday when I saw you an dI still like it today when I see it on your blog. FYI.
um 35 dollars??! that’s unheard of in this city! DEETS!
His name is Diadro and he works out of a salon near Lincoln & Addison. He doesn’t do color but his haircuts are amazing and he won’t push product on you, either. Here’s his website: http://www.diadrocuts.com/default.html
It is amazing how much an accessory can change a look — I love love love how this pink-and-gold necklace (plus the untucked shirt this go-around) ramps up the cool, lounge-y vibe.
Thanks! I liked this look a lot better, too. I’d been eyeing the necklace for a long time and was finally able to purchase it. I’ve already worn it twice
I have that same necklace in blue. I love it!!
Also, I need info about this hairdresser, $35 is amazing!
I also have the necklace in seafoam green and navy. I got them as a set!

Fun necklace! What a great outfit to celebrate the end of summer.
Thanks! As sad as I am to see the warmer temps go, I am looking forward to wearing blazers again!
I like the wave! I had a cut once where all I had to do was wash in the night before, add mousse and I was good to go in the am (with waves). I miss that.
So why don’t you get your hair cut like that again?
Is that Old Navy shirt true to size? Also, what size is yours? I’m trying to order it off the website, but the reviews about size are all over the place. I usually wear S in ON, but have some M items too (cardigans and a few tank tops). Do you have a recommendation for what size I should get? Thanks!
I usually wear an XS in their stuff and that’s what size this shirt is. If you normally wear a small then I would think a small would fit just fine. An M would probably just be more flow-y so I guess it depends on what kind of look you’re going for.
You responded so quickly! Thank you!!
