Tonight I’m attending the Fashion’s Night Out event at the State Street Macy’s.   Which means I was slightly more concerned about what to wear to that and not as concerned about what to wear to work.  So I pulled on an outfit I’ve had in mind for a while.  I’m not in love with it but it’s better than going to work naked.  I think.

Why am I not in love with it?  I’m not entirely sure.  Maybe the top isn’t tailored enough for the pants?  Maybe I’m too short-torsoed?  Maybe the black shoes are throwing off the look?  Maybe it feels too casual?  I do love the colors and the pattern together, though, so I’ll keep playing with it until it feels just right.

For some reason with my short torso I don’t always love shirts tucked into pants but I will definitely try it with this one and see if that makes a difference.

I agree with previous comments about tucking in …. or maybe knotting the ends? Also, it might be fun to try it with a different pair of shoes. 🙂 Looking forward to your restyle of this. 🙂

I like all the pieces, especially those green pants. I would also try maybe a skinny belt to help define the waist — ooh, even your leopard print belt would be a fun bit of pattern-mixing, otherwise a black skinny belt would also pick up on the shoes — with the shirt untucked or not. I like options 🙂

Oh yeah, I’ve got a short torso as well, it can be hard to pull off the long shirt/ankle pants look together. I think it looks cute and casual this way, but I think it would be easy to dress it up without changing very much. I think tucking the shirt in and adding a great heel would be all you’d need to do. I really like the combo of the green pants and the polka dotted shirt(LOVE that shirt!) those look great together. 🙂

Oh, have fun at your event tonight, it sounds like it will be a blast!

I’m glad I’m not the only one with short-torso problems. I also don’t like wearing stuff tucked in all that often because I feel it sits weird/looks weird. I really love those green pants! Thanks for another great post! 🙂
