Business Professional

Dress – The Limited | Blazer – The Limited | Necklace – The Limited | Shoes – Anne Klein via Bergner’s
I had a busy day full of meetings so I didn’t get a chance to take my outfit pictures until after work. Normally I do them in the morning when I take them outside. In the morning there’s no one on our rooftop. In the afternoon, though, it’s more likely to have someone around. Today’s photography witness asked me if I was a realtor.
I guess I was going for business professional and I must have succeeded. This outfit isn’t particularly crazy considering it’s all grays and blacks, but I will say you can’t go wrong with a dress and a blazer. It’s a pretty classic combination that doesn’t look too matchy-matchy but is dressed up and professional. Plus it’s a great way to transition sleeveless dresses to cooler months.

I’ve had all of these clothing pieces in my closet for a long time. I keep wavering on whether or not to keep the cardigan and then it keeps staying.
Pairing the fancy sequined skirt with a neutral colored cardigan and nude heels helps keep it from being too bling-y or overwhelming.
The fact that I paired two pieces that could be considered slightly casual but added heels and a blazer makes my outfit work appropriate without being traditional.
Ever since I bought this tie-neck top I have been wanting to pair it with these pants.

You always look so chic! I wish I could pull together an outfit like you do!
I love how someone asked you if you were a Realtor. That’s great!
If you ever want a closet or shopping consultation, I do them for free because I think they’re fun!
Pretty necklace!
Thank you! I think I saw a very similar one at The Limited this weekend, too. So, it’s still out there!
I have not been able to figure out a blazer with dresses. Do you think they both need to be more structured?
I think a blazer works best with a sheath dress, but if the blazer is the right length you could wear it with a more A-line dress or one with a pleated bottom. The blazer just can’t be too long if the bottom of the skirt isn’t structured.
